Introducing The Artful Aftermath

There are moments in life when words aren’t enough. After loss, after change, after the stretch of time when you’re just trying to get through, sometimes what you need is a small minute of joy to feel human again.

That’s why I’m starting The Artful Aftermath.

The Artful Aftermath is a creativity circle: a welcoming, low-pressure space to make something and be around other people while you do it. You don’t need art experience. You don’t need to know what you want to say. We meet Friday evenings, and each session is built around simple, hands-on projects like writing a postcard to your younger self, arranging flowers, or building a collage.

I hope it gives us a reason to slow down for an evening. I hope you leave with something you made and a little more room to breathe. And I hope it shows you that you don’t have to carry hard things alone, or have the right words for them, to begin to feel small moments of joy again.

The Artful Aftermath isn’t therapy, and it isn’t trying to be. It’s a place to create, connect, and let the making do some quiet work.

Rooted in the magic of the natural world, Elysian is a reflection of Miranda’s ever-evolving practice of modern folk witchcraft. Her interests span tarot and divination, herbalism and plant magic, astrology, minerals, spirit work, and the esoteric arts.

Established in 2021, The Elysian Gardens grew from a deep reverence for sacred plants and their medicinal and magical properties.

Calling the Black Hills home, Miranda draws inspiration from the beauty of this land while
honoring its Indigenous history and the Oceti Sakowin, whose ancestral territory it remains.

Hi, I’m Natalie, the artist and maker behind The Frazzled Ginger Creative Co. My creative journey has always been rooted in storytelling, nostalgia, and finding a little bit of magic in ordinary things.

I’ve loved making things for as long as I can remember. What started as a love for writing, photography, and creating little pieces of paper goods eventually grew into a creative outlet where I could bring all of those things together. I’m especially drawn to vintage-inspired design, wildflowers, cozy Americana, and the little details that make something feel like it belongs in another time.

As a military spouse, I’ve also learned how meaningful the ideas of home, community, and connection can be. Military life has taken me to new places, introduced me to wonderful people, and taught me that sometimes you have to create little pieces of home wherever you are. That perspective has found its way into my art. I love making things that feel comforting, nostalgic, and familiar, especially during seasons of change.

My work is often inspired by the things I love most: old stories, beautiful places, handwritten letters, flowers, childhood nostalgia, and the feeling of coming home. I love creating pieces that feel personal, sentimental, and a little whimsical, whether that’s a postcard, greeting card, bookmark, candle, or something completely new.

I’m still very much on my artist journey, and that’s part of what makes it exciting. I’m learning, experimenting, and giving myself permission to follow whatever creative idea makes me happy next. The Frazzled Ginger is ultimately about making room for creativity in everyday life and creating little things that make people smile.

I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share my work through Aqua & Acre and to be surrounded by a community that celebrates handmade art and the people behind it.

MEET CRYSTAL
Crystal is a Box Elder portrait photographer who loves people, pets, and the great outdoors. After a 24-year career in the U.S. Air Force, she now serves others by preserving the moments and connections that make each person and family unique. Her approach? “I got rid of the box when I got out of the Air Force. No rules. Just fun!”

About the Artist | Myzfit Arts

Hugh Baxley, the self-taught artist behind Myzfit Arts, has spent most of his life exploring the world through drawing, painting, photography, and creative expression. His artistic journey is driven by curiosity, imagination, and a desire to create work that reflects his individuality.

Working across a variety of mediums, including acrylics, oils, pastels, pencil, charcoal, and photography, Hugh embraces an intuitive approach to art. Rather than following a rigid formula, he prefers to go with the flow, allowing each piece to develop naturally through experimentation, emotion, and inspiration.

For Hugh, art is more than a profession or a creative outlet. It is a form of therapy, a means of processing thoughts and emotions, and a way to express what words sometimes cannot. Dr. Kelsey is teaching Hydroponics & Aquaponics 101: Growing without Soil through Community Education of the Black Hills, and the next session starts this Wednesday, October 7 at 6 pm.

We’ll cover how these systems work, what you need to get started, and how to keep plants thriving year-round, even through a South Dakota winter. No experience needed. Just bring your curiosity.
