🍔🧱 Join Us for BBQ & “Legos with Your Buddy”! 🧱🍔

We’re excited to invite our Honey Bee families to a fun and meaningful afternoon together!

📅 Thursday, June 18
🕐 1:00–4:00 PM

This event is open to current clients of the Honey Bee Family Support Center program.

In honor of Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the important role that caring adults play in children’s lives. We understand every family is different, so each child is encouraged to bring an adult buddy—a parent, guardian, relative, or mentor—to build and connect with.

✨ Each child will receive a new LEGO set to build with their buddy (while supplies last)
🍽️ Enjoy BBQ sandwiches and sides
🏃‍♂️ Weather permitting, we’ll also have outdoor games and activities in the back parking lot

Come build, play, and make great memories together—we can’t wait to see you there! 💛🐝

📢 We Need Your Help

Family Support Centers across West Virginia provide critical services that help families thrive through parenting support, family activities, community resources, support groups, and programs that strengthen children and families.

While we are grateful to the West Virginia Legislature for recognizing the value of these services and including funding in the state budget, the future of Family Support Centers remains uncertain as we approach the new fiscal year.

We need your voice. Please contact Governor Morrisey and urge him to renew and fully fund our contracts. Sharing why Family Support Centers matter to you - personal stories and local experiences - help demonstrate the value these programs bring to communities throughout the Mountain State.

Please contact Governor Patrick Morrisey and share why Family Support Centers matter to you, your family, or your community. Personal stories make a difference and help demonstrate the impact these programs have across West Virginia.

Together, we can keep these vital services available for the families who rely on them every day.

Strong Families. Strong Communities. Strong West Virginia

West Virginia Department of Human Services today announced applications for the Emergency Low Income Energy Assistance Program (ELIEAP) will be accepted from June 8 through June 26, 2026, or until funds are exhausted.

The federally funded program assists eligible state residents in paying home heating or cooling bills. Residents whose primary heating and cooling source is gas or electricity must provide a termination notice or a past due utility bill when applying for ELIEAP. Households using other primary heating sources or bulk fuel may qualify for assistance if their heating fuel levels are critically low during the application period.

Households that received a direct payment through the regular Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) must verify that the benefit was used for home heating expenses. Applicants must submit a current receipt equal to the amount of LIEAP assistance received along with their ELIEAP application. Failure to provide verification of payment will result in denial of the application.

Eligibility for ELIEAP is based on household income, household size, and responsibility for paying home heating or cooling costs. To qualify, households must meet all program requirements and be experiencing an energy emergency that could disrupt their primary heating or cooling source if assistance is not provided.

The income limit for Fiscal Year 2026 is 60 percent of the State Median Income. The maximum allowable gross income levels for ELIEAP Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 are listed below:

*For each additional household member, add $688. Households whose countable income exceeds the maximum allowable amount are not eligible for assistance. Certain types of income may be excluded when determining ELIEAP eligibility.

Residents must apply in person at their local DoHS office. A directory of local offices is available at dohs.wv.gov/field-offices. Applications will be processed while funding remains available.

The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS), Bureau for Family Assistance (BFA), has received federal approval to provide Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT) for the 2026 summer period. This program assists eligible households in purchasing groceries during the summer months when school meals are unavailable.

The 2026 Summer EBT program will run from June 1, 2026, through August 20, 2026, and will provide a one-time grocery benefit. To receive benefits during the initial issuance, households should submit a completed application by May 15, 2026. Applications will continue to be accepted through August 20, 2026, and will be processed within 15 business days after receipt.

Applications can be obtained at local DoHS county offices, through the Office of Constituent Services, or downloaded at bfa.wv.gov/summer-ebt. Applications will be available in paper format only and may be submitted in person, by mail, email, or fax.

Eligibility and Benefits:

Benefits will be issued as a one-time payment, either added to an existing SNAP or WV WORKS EBT card or provided on a new Mountain State EBT card.

Most eligible students will be automatically enrolled through the PATH system if they:

-Receive SNAP, WV WORKS, or qualifying Medicaid
-Are in foster care
-Are identified as homeless, migrant, or runaway
-Are enrolled in WV Head Start

These households do not need to apply and can expect to receive benefits beginning the week of May 25, 2026.

Households not automatically enrolled, including those with students attending Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools, must apply to determine eligibility.

Eligibility is based on household income:

Families with questions or needing assistance with the application process may contact the DoHS Customer Service Center at 1-877-716-1212 or visit a local DoHS office for support.
