On December 29, 2025, the University of Phayao, led by Dr. Wuttichai Chairinkham, Vice President for Student Quality, along with the Volunteer Operations Center of the Student Affairs Division, had the honor of welcoming Global Campus Chiang Mai, Thailand, a non-profit organization that supports educational and career opportunities for underprivileged people with disabilities worldwide. The visit and exchange of knowledge on supporting students with disabilities took place at the Language Institute of Chiang Mai University. Assistant Professor Sakorn Rueankai, Director of the Language Institute, welcomed the delegation. Global Campuses Foundation, represented by Mr. James Tewksbury, Co-Founder and Board Member Emeritus, from the Global Campuses Foundation, USA, and Associate Professor Dr. Arnop Pongwat, Honorary Advisor, exchanged information on Global Campuses' role in collaboration with Chiang Mai University, positive educational approaches related to culture and disability issues for students, and future collaborative activities with the University of Phayao, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Phayao and Global Campuses Foundation – GCF and Global Campus Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai University Receives Award for Promoting Accessible Facilities for People with Disabilities in Chiang Mai Province
Assistant Professor Dr. Woraphot Serirat, Assistant to the President, representing the President of Chiang Mai University, received the award from Mr. Siwa Thamikanon, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province, at the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 event in Chiang Mai, held on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the Horizon Village and Resort meeting room, Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province.
The event was organized by the Chiang Mai Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office and related agencies, including the Chiang Mai Provincial Network for People with Disabilities, to honor individuals, organizations, and agencies for their support of disability-related work and to recognize people with disabilities as role models in society. It also aimed to foster a positive attitude towards people with disabilities, their families, and society towards disability and people with disabilities. Furthermore, it aimed to inform people with disabilities in Chiang Mai Province about government policies, measures, and guidelines for promoting and developing their potential, and to promote fairness, equality, and equal opportunities in all sectors of society. Finally, it aimed to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to demonstrate their potential and access various benefits in society equally with able-bodied individuals.

University of Phayao signed an academic cooperation agreement with the Global Campuses Foundation, United States, and Global Campus Chiang Mai, Thailand.

On November 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM, Associate Professor Dr. Suphakorn Phongbangpho, President of University of Phayao, assigned Dr. Wuttichai Chairinkam, Vice President for Student Quality, to sign an academic cooperation agreement with the Global Campuses Foundation, United States, and Global Campus Chiang Mai, Thailand. This cooperation aims to establish a network for the care of students with disabilities, with the goal of establishing Global Campuses, Phayao in the future.
