School Street Community Garden

School Street Community Garden Community Garden open to all. Collaborative garden.

Our objective is to offer a space for members of the community to come and do what they are able to in the garden (planting seeds/plants, garden maintenance, weeding, watering, harvesting, etc). A space for those who wish to experience the benefits and satisfaction of home grown food or who desire to make a change toward a more sustainable lifestyle. We hope to foster a sense of community among ou

r members, and create a safe space for all generations to, together, learn how to better grow their own food. We also hope, that through our presence in the wider community, we will collectively help to generate more awareness about local food systems and sustainability.

Tough year for many plants at The Community Garden. But the Jerusalem artichoke plants were off the hook, over 8’ tall. And the plants that did well were the strawberries. Potatoes, lettuce, herbs… especially cilantro, and basil, and the corn. It will be time to put the garden to rest for the season soon.

If you want to find out more about the garden and be part of planning for next year pm.
