👏 👏

We're celebrating a huge win for educational support professionals (ESPs) in NJ! 🎉Governor Sherrill signed a law granting salary guide credit to military veterans currently serving as ESPs. The law will provide these educators with the same access to salary guide credit as certified teachers and staff. Visit 🔗njea.org to learn more or click the link in the first comment below ⬇️

Thank you to Assemblywoman Andrea Katz and Senator Raj Mukherji for sponsoring the bill and bringing equity to our veterans working in public education.

On Friday, The School Employees’ Health Benefits Commission (SEHBC) approved a more than 34% health insurance rate increase for participating school districts.

Despite repeated requests from NJEA's commission representatives for information and proposals to reduce costs, the division continued to insist on approval of the proposed rates without taking meaningful action to bring them down.

Proposed legislation in S4438/A5285 will help address the skyrocketing costs of healthcare. We're calling all members to take action! Scan the QR Code to learn more!
