The Last Mile

The Last Mile SAVE THE DATE(s) and join us Aug. 14 and 15, 2026, in Randolph, VT.

Starting in 2006 with just 74 motorcyclists, the Last Mile has grown into three days of fundraising activities: a timed 5K, two different walking routes, a bicycle ride and a motorcycle ride. Support offered through the Last Mile extends beyond providing care for a patient on life’s last mile. It is also about offering support to those they're leaving behind because the end-of-life experience is a

bout caring for both the patient and their family. Funds raised by the Last Mile could go towards providing meals for the family, transportation costs for family members to visit their loved one last time or supplement funeral expenses and offer grief counseling trough Gifford's chaplaincy program. You can help us make the end-of-life experience one that is supportive, comforting, and filled with lasting memories for family.

We’ve loved hearing all the reasons you showed up for the Last Mile.

Maybe you walked in memory of someone you love. Maybe you came out for your family, your friends, or your community. Maybe you simply wanted to be part of something that makes a difference. Whatever your “why,” you helped make a difference for Gifford patients and their families.

Together, you helped make compassionate end-of-life care possible for Gifford patients and their families. Together, you granted wishes. 🧡

Thank you for sharing your “why,” for being there, and for making every mile matter. We’re so grateful for this community.

💚 Shout-out to our incredible Environmental Services (EVS) team!

Our EVS team does so much more than keep Gifford clean and spotless, they bring compassion, kindness, and care to every interaction, making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients, families, and staff everyday.

And they don't stop there! This amazing team took the time to walk Last Mile together! Their teamwork and commitment to caring for others truly shines both inside and outside of Gifford.

Just look at these numbers! You showed up in an incredible way for Gifford patients and their families, and your generosity will make such a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.
