At KDW Cares, we understand that clothing insecurity goes beyond just not having enough to wear. It impacts confidence, dignity, and self esteem. Everyone deserves to feel a sense of pride in how they show up in the world.

Our latest effort is now ready to go out to those in need. We are proud to share that every item collected through this drive has been carefully prepared for distribution.

Through your support, we collected gently used clothing and partnered with to ensure every item was professionally laundered and folded. This step matters!! It allows recipients to receive clothing with dignity, not by sorting through bags, but by selecting clean, organized items they can wear with confidence.

These donations will support families through our partners at and . We also thank for their generous contribution of personal hygiene items, helping us extend care beyond clothing.

Thank you to every donor who contributed to this campaign! Your support makes this impact possible.

This work is just as important as everything else we do. It is about restoring dignity, building confidence, and showing up for our community in meaningful ways.

The Why Behind the Work

Every year, we award the Urban Educator Scholarship. But behind that award is a story, a legacy, and a "why" that drives everything we do.

The scholarship honors Antwion Alexander Ball, a passionate educator and mentor who dedicated his life to teaching students of all ages. His unique ability to connect with young people spiritually, academically, and socially was a game changer in helping students achieve success.He understood that outcomes in Reading and Math, particularly in communities of color, lag behind and he knew these skills are critical for problem-solving, decision-making, and communication in adulthood.

Antwion committed his life to providing resources for scholars while being relatable to the social and emotional challenges young people face.We lost Antwion in late 2020 during the height of the pandemic. Though he is no longer here with us in the physical, we continue the work he started, in the essence of teaching, providing resources, and giving back.

The Urban Educator Award exists to honor his legacy and continue his mission.When you support this scholarship, you're not just funding education. You're continuing the work of an extraordinary educator who believed in the power of connection, mentorship, and community.
