ASRF helped Afghan Scouting leadership escape the Taliban after the fall of Kabul and continues the mission of evacuating brilliant young Afghan women to pursue an education, with 55 students studying in the US and Malaysia and more who need our help.

For 20 years, the US and our allies built schools in Afghanistan and gave women hope for an education and an inspired future. ASRF is pleased to be working alongside many partners in a bi-partisan effort to protect Afghan students in the United States and to request a case by case exemption to Proclamation 10949 to allow Afghan women students to apply for a student visa.

Linked is an X post by Representative Don Bacon, the sponsor of a bi-partisan Afghan Women Student Visas letter request to the State Department and Department of Homeland Security which is circulating the House of Representatives.

ASRF is a non-partisan and a-political entity working on both sides of the aisle.

Since 2023, the Afghan Scout Relief Fund has been active with Congressional Advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill to protect our students in the United States and allow more amazing Afghan women the opportunity to study and pursue an inspired future, a human right they are denied at home.

Our most recent effort since October 2025 alongside partner organizations consists of a letter to the State Department and Department of Homeland Security sponsored by Representative Don Bacon which requests a case by case exemption to Proclamation 10949. This would allow Afghan women to apply and be considered for student visas to the United States and for Optional Practical Training to be processed.

We are always looking for bi-partisan support and welcome any efforts to gain signatures on this important letter.

The Afghan Scout Relief Fund is incredibly grateful for the bi-partisan support that has been expressed in Congress. Alongside a number of partner organizations, we are eager to continue the important mission of fulfilling an educational promise to so many brilliant Afghan women who are denied this basic human right at home.
