Rio Grande Water Walk Starting April 8th, 2022, we will be walking north to Creed. Get involved

We are a diverse group of nonprofits, activists, students, educators, artists, religious groups and nations, working towards implementing legal personhood for the Rio Grande and its tributaries. Starting April 8th, 2022, a group of nonprofits will initiate a great walk along the Rio Grande river, starting in Santa Fe, NM, ending at its headwaters in Creed, CO. There will be actions along the way i

n Santa Fe, Taos and Crestone to bring awareness to the need for the legal personhood of the Rio Grande and its tributaries, with rallies, prayer vigils, ceremonies, speakers, education and more. This walk will continue as it builds momentum for as long as it takes to gain personhood for the Rio Grande in the state of New Mexico.

We our excited to be collaborating with Guardians of the Rivers they are teaching a 3 month course on river protections here is more information.

Join us in February for a 3 month transformational online course, co-curated with Guardians Worldwide, as we listen, learn, and act in solidarity with global river guardians. Led by indigenous teachers, scientists, ecologists, land justice activists, community leaders and water defenders from over 20 nations around the world, including India, Slovakia, Brazil, Honduras, Colombia, Lebanon, and Nigeria, this course will empower and inspire you to be a river guardian.
