or at the door.
We are proud to dedicate this concert to Robert Graulich (1941-2026)
This concert will feature a major work by Howard Hanson, Song of Democracy. Written in 1957, this is a dramatic musical work based on a poem by Walt Whitman, specifically emphasizing the text "Sail, sail thy best, ship of Democracy." This music and the poem celebrate democratic ideals, equality, connections across the globe, and the American spirit.
In addition, you will be treated to music by Duke Ellington and Leonard Bernstein, plus a little jazz and a touch of Broadway, all by American composers. And a special treat- our pianist, Carol Roman will perform her original arrangement of George Gershwin's "I Got Rhythm" .. Let the toe-tapping begin!

We dedicate this concert to a dear friend and wonderful singer, Robert Graulich who passed away on Valentine's Day this year. Robert ("Bob") shared his considerable talents with The Festival Singers for almost a decade in the tenor section, rarely missing a rehearsal or performance. Choral music had been an important part of Bob's life since he was 9 yrs old. That year, they placed him in the Soprano section in the chorus at Tanglewood! In Bob's words, "Every performance was magic! I was hooked on choral singing forever!" The Festival Singers cherish and honor Bob's time as a beloved member.
Please consider making a donation to The Festival Singers in memory of Robert Graulich. Just specify that the donation is "for Bob" - we sincerely appreciate it.
The Festival Singers, based in Orange County, California, provides choral music entertainment for the greater Southern California community.
