What an incredible evening at the 𝗢𝗖 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴! 🤍

There’s something so special about being surrounded by women passionate about making a difference. Hearing the nominated nonprofits share their missions, the work they’re doing, and the communities they serve was truly inspiring. The genuine support and excitement in the room made it even more meaningful.

A huge congratulations to all three presenting nonprofits: Tree of New America, Kure It Cancer Research, and Gloves for Grief! Each is doing incredible work, and every mission deserves to be celebrated. 🤍

It was especially emotional watching Gloves for Grief receive the winning donation! 🥊

I’ve known Terra since we met in group therapy as fellow loss moms. To have connected through one of life’s most difficult chapters and now witness the beautiful work she’s doing through her own grief was such a full-circle moment. I couldn’t be happier for her and the Gloves for Grief team!

And then came a surprise we weren’t expecting! 🥹

We’re honored to be nominated alongside Thanksgiving Heroes Orange County and Miracles for Kids - 501(c)(3), two wonderful organizations making a difference in our community.

As a small nonprofit continuing to grow and create meaningful spaces for those navigating grief, this recognition means so much.

Thank you to the women behind OC 100 Women for creating a space where generosity, community, and purpose come together.

Some grief is carried quietly. Some love is held for a lifetime. 🤍

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, and this gathering is especially close to my heart.

Having experienced pregnancy loss myself, I know there are dates, moments, and memories that stay with you. Sometimes there aren’t many photographs or years of memories to share—but there was still a life imagined, a future pictured, and a love that was very real.

On October 15, Light of Grief is creating a small, intimate space for that love and grief to be held.

✨ Held in Light: Meditation, Sound & Remembrance

We’ll gather in a beautiful private nature setting in Laguna Beach for an evening of guided meditation, sound healing, quiet reflection, and remembrance.

At 7 PM, we’ll light our candles together as part of the Wave of Light, joining families around the world in remembering babies who died during pregnancy or infancy. 🕯️

There is no expectation to share your story.
No expectation to be at a certain place in your grief.
You can simply come as you are.

🌿 Thursday, October 15
🤍 5:30–7:15 PM
📍 Private nature setting • Laguna Beach
🎟️ $55 per guest
✨ Limited spaces available

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, your baby mattered. Your grief matters. Your love remains.

Registration is now open through the link in our bio.

If you know someone who may need a space like this, please share this with them. 🤍

This month is deeply personal to me. Before experiencing pregnancy loss myself, I honestly didn’t know this was a world so many families were quietly living in. I didn’t understand the language, the milestones, the dates you continue to carry, or how much grief can exist for a life and a future you had already begun imagining.

Then I became part of a community I never knew I would belong to.

Through my own losses, I learned that the amount of time you have with your baby doesn’t determine the amount of love you have for them. And it doesn’t determine the depth of the grief that follows.

That’s part of why Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month matters to me and why it matters to Light of Grief.

There are losses our culture still doesn’t quite know how to hold. Sometimes there are no memories outside of an ultrasound, a positive pregnancy test, a name, a due date, or all the plans that had already begun forming in someone’s heart.

But those babies existed. They were loved. And their parents’ grief deserves to be acknowledged. 🤍

Today is National Grief Awareness Day, and this one feels a little different for me. 🤍

I lost my uncle unexpectedly yesterday, and it reminded me again that you truly never know how grief is going to hit you — or the people you love.

My role has always naturally been to protect the peace of the people I love. To give them space. To try to create a little bit of quiet around them when everything suddenly feels like too much.

And I think this is something we sometimes forget when someone experiences a loss.

We mean well. We want to help. We want to give our condolences, ask what happened, find out what comes next, make plans, bring things, fix things especially if you’re a “doer” and doing is how you know how to love.

But sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give someone permission to simply grieve.

When a loss happens, especially unexpectedly, people may still be in shock. Every phone call can mean repeating the story again. Every well-intentioned question about what happened, services, arrangements, or “what’s next?” can become another thing they have to process and answer when they may not even have those answers themselves.

Send the message. Say their person’s name. Tell them you love them. Let them know you’re there.

And then give them space to breathe.

They don’t need to have plans yet.
They don’t need to respond yet.
They don’t need to make everyone else feel okay.
They don’t need to grieve on anyone else’s timeline.

When they’re ready to share more, you’ll know.

National Grief Awareness Day is a reminder that grief looks different for every person and every loss. There is no checklist, no timeline, and no perfect way to support someone through it.

Sometimes support looks like showing up.

And sometimes it looks like lovingly stepping back and saying, “I’m here whenever you’re ready.” 🤍

Today I’m holding my family a little closer, remembering my uncle, and holding space for anyone else who woke up today carrying a loss they weren’t prepared for.

They were never “just a pet.” 🤍🐾

They were part of the everyday moments…our routines, our comfort, our quiet companionship, and that little presence that somehow followed us everywhere.

And when they’re gone, you realize just how much space they filled.

Pet loss is grief. It deserves to be acknowledged, talked about, and held with the same compassion as any other loss.

Today, on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, I’m especially missing my lil shadow, Rudder Buddy. 😭🤍🐾 I miss having you right there beside me.

Here’s to all the animals who left paw prints on our lives long after they left our side. 🌈

If you’re missing a beloved pet today, share their name below. I’d love to remember them with you. 🤍

After our time with the horses, Amanda of moonlightrestoritive will guide us through a restorative sound bath, giving you space to settle, reflect, and simply receive. 🤍

What if resting was the plan?

If you’ve been feeling overstimulated, mentally tired, emotionally heavy, or like you’re always taking care of everyone else… Held in Stillness: Yoga Nidra might be exactly the kind of pause you’ve been needing.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice done completely at rest with no poses, flexibility, or yoga experience required.

✨ It can support:
• Deep relaxation + rest
• Stress and tension relief
• Calming the nervous system
• Better sleep
• Mental clarity + focus
• Emotional grounding
• Mind-body connection
• Creating space to simply slow down and be

And the best part? You don’t have to be “good” at meditation. You simply get comfortable, close your eyes, and allow yourself to be guided.

🌿 Held in Stillness: Yoga Nidra
Sunday, September 20
1:00–3:00 PM
Soul Movement Yoga | Mission Viejo

You don’t have to be grieving to join us. Maybe life has been heavy. Maybe you’re in a season of change. Maybe you’re exhausted. Or maybe you simply want two hours that are just for you.

Come curious. Come tired. Come exactly as you are. 🤍

🎟️ Reserve your spot through the link in bio.

Today, on National Rainbow Baby Day, we honor the babies who brought hope after loss while remembering the babies who came before them. 🌈🤍

Because a rainbow doesn’t mean the storm never happened.

Joy and grief can exist together. Hope and fear can exist together. Welcoming new life doesn’t erase the love, dreams, or memories held for the baby who isn’t here.

To every parent whose journey has included pregnancy or infant loss, and to every rainbow baby who carries a story of love before them we’re holding space for all of it today.

Every baby is loved. Every story matters. 🤍

Our new Light of Grief website is LIVE. 🤍

This update feels like so much more than a new website. Light of Grief has grown and evolved in ways I couldn’t have imagined when I first started, and I’m so excited to finally have a space that reflects more of who we are today and where we’re going.

One of the things I’m most excited about is having our resources gathered in one place. Creating a space where you can come not only for our gatherings, but also to find support, resources, and connection has been something I’ve wanted for a long time.

A huge thank you to PAIGE AILEEN for her patience, support, and care throughout this entire update. 🤍 Thank you for helping me take all the ideas floating around in my head and turn them into something that feels like Light of Grief.

And while you’re looking around… you might notice one page that says COMING SOON. 👀

Any guesses what it is? Drop them in the comments.

I’m nervous, excited, emotional—all the things—about this next little chapter. It’s something completely new for Light of Grief and another way I hope we can create community, share real stories, have meaningful conversations, and remind people that none of us have to navigate the hard parts of life alone.

I haven’t really talked about it yet, so for now… that’s all you’re getting. 🤭

Go explore the new site, take a look through the resources, and then come back and tell me your guess for what’s coming next. 🤍
