Since its inception in 1954, The Country Friends has donated nearly $15 million to charitable organizations in San Diego. The Country Friends provides assistance to nonprofit organizations in San Diego County with an emphasis on women, children, the military, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The funds distributed to these organizations are generated through year-long fundraising efforts:

Events, the Consignment Shop located in Rancho Santa Fe, and the Annual Art of Fashion Show & Luncheon presented by South Coast Plaza, a long-time partner. The Country Friends conducts on-site visits as part of its overall grants process; grant requests are then reviewed and voted on by The Board of Directors. In this way, we are able to prioritize the capital items that would provide the most fundamental support to their overall mission and to the enrichment of the San Diego community. ART OF FASHION PRESENTING SPONSOR SOUTH COAST PLAZA
Thousands upon thousands of thank-yous come from women who had no place to go but found a safe home. From people facing hard times on the streets who needed a fresh shower, a warm bed, and a nourishing meal. From underserved families who struggle to pay their bills and are grateful when their children receive backpacks filled with supplies, after-school arts programs, and summer camps to experience. From seniors whose last wishes were fulfilled with something as simple as their favorite meal. From children who found creative and artful ways to stay connected with a parent serving in the military.
The thank-yous go on and on, all because of you, . For 21 years, your generosity has been a true gateway to hope for women, children, seniors, military families, and people with disabilities.
