The Miss Malibu Coast and Miss Malibu Coast Outstanding Teen Scholarship pageants are official preliminary pageants to Miss California, Miss California's Outstanding Teen, Miss America and Miss America's Outstanding Teen. Our pageant is held in January, and is open to teens and women ages 13-24. We also hold a Princess Program, which is an opportunity for young girls 5-12 to work with our Teen and
Miss Contestants and be a part of our production.
*Please note the Princess Program is not a competition. The Miss America Organization is the single largest source of scholarships for women in the world. Annually, up to $45 million in various types of scholarship awards, including cash, tuition waivers and in-kind scholarships are made available to the young women who participate in these programs. Between 1985 and 2013, the Miss California Organization has awarded more than $4 million in cash scholarships to participants at the State and Local level. During its July 2013 competition alone, Miss California cash awards exceeded $100,000. For 2014, cash scholarships are expected to exceed $120,000. Since 1986, California has led all other states in the Miss America program in combined cash scholarship awards at the State and Local levels; we are very proud of these accomplishments, and we are always seeking new ways to maintain and increase our awards. On a local level, our program is an affiliate of both Miss California and Miss America. This program awards cash scholarships and prizes and the winner(s) of our competition advances to Miss California—and possibly even to Miss America—with the opportunity to earn even scholarship money.
