Last year, for the holidays, we shipped 2,799 comfort scarves, 522 hats, 104 baby items, and around 200 amigurumi to shelters for abused and homeless women throughout CA. We received back so many thank you letters. Here are snippets from some of them. I want you to know how valuable our scarves and beanies are to those who receive them!
Michele Nadeau, from 1736 Family Crisis Center in Torrance, wrote: Thank you so much for your contribution of 130 handmade scarves for 1736’s Free Holiday Store. The store includes hundreds of fabulous gifts from generous donors like you. . . (We transform our office) into a magnificent department store, stocked with new toys, games, clothing, etc. so our families can “shop” for gifts for their loved ones at no charge. They can feel the excitement of both giving and receiving during the holiday season. Thank you again for bringing the wonder of the holidays to everyone in our care.

Your kindness not only meets a practical need but also reminds our community that they are cared for and special.
Erin O’Brien, CEO at Community Solutions in Gilroy, wrote: You are so generous. . . . It is easy to take our everyday possessions for granted. But for someone starting over, the little things in life make a huge difference. The families seeking refuge from crisis come to us with very little. By providing handmade scarves, you are allowing them to focus their energy on healing and recovery. This is a great service to our community.
