Dear Friends,

Thank you for your most generous, continued, and vital support of Saint Vincent de Paul, conference Sainte Vierge, Hammana. Your willingness to help strengthens and empowers our mission to serve those in need in our hometown.
Your generosity has made a tangible difference.

In 2024, we provided:
• Monthly Medications to 59 persons with chronic diseases at the local pharmacy.
• Oxygen support to 32 persons with chronic respiratory illnesses through the generous donation of 4 oxygen concentrators, 4 oxygen regulators, and 8 oxygen tanks.
• Diesel for heating to 227 houses during the winter months.
• Food boxes to 735 families in need.
• Christmas gifts to 100 children.
• Cartons of eggs to 221 families before Easter.
• Plants and seeds to 110 gardens.
• Food stamps to 212 families for meat and chicken.
• Adult diapers to those in need.

We are humbled by your continued support.

As the needs of our community continue to grow, we are asking for your help once again. This year, the demand on our services has multiplied. We need your support more than ever to continue providing essential assistance to those in need.

Please consider making a donation by December 3rd, to our upcoming fundraising event, in collaboration with Hammana Club of Southern California, Hammana club of Cleveland, Heal Beirut and the American Lebanese Community Advisory Council (ALCAC). Your gift, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.

Thank you for your generosity and compassion.

Sincerely,
The Saint Vincent de Paul, conference Sainte Vierge, Hammana team

Friends,

As the winter season approaches, it is crucial to remember our family and friends in Hammana who need our assistance.

Many of you have contributed to HCSC fundraising campaigns in the past, and we are grateful to you. With these donations, Saint Vincent De Paul Hammana (SVDP Conf. Sainte Vierge-Hammana) has been able to provide
Diesel for heating (mazout), hot meals, and medication to those in Hammana who are unable to provide for themselves. Without your help, and the selfless volunteers of St. Vincent de Paul, none of this would have been possible.

After surveying families in need, SVDP has determined that the most pressing needs are to provide mazout for heating and subsidize healthcare costs. With the winter’s coldest months ahead of us, there are homes relying on SVDP to obtain mazout. Also, with the prohibitive costs of health insurance, families are unable to afford hospitalization and SVDP strives to help with the bills.

The goal of this fundraising campaign is to raise $50,000. This will support delivering mazout to 50+ homes ($30,000), subsidizing hospitalization cost ($20,000), and continuing other needed efforts such as food box deliveries and medications from the local pharmacy.

All donations are tax deductible and contributions of any amount will be greatly appreciated. You can donate at the link below, or via zelle using [email protected]

As the saying goes… “It takes a village!” Thanks to our “village” of Hammana expats and friends, we were able to reach our initial match target of $10,000! Our generous donor was kind enough to match $6,000, as previously agreed! We are currently at $16,500, thanks to many of you! Our main goal is $50,000, and we are confident we will reach our goal!

United as one!

Many of you have contributed to HCSC fundraising campaigns in the past, and we are grateful to you. With these donations, St. Vincent de Paul has been able to provide mazout, propane, food boxes, hot meals and medication to those in Hammana who are unable to provide for themselves. Without your help, and the selfless volunteers of St. Vincent de Paul, none of this would have been possible.

After surveying families in need, SVDP has determined that approximately 50 homes require critical heating fuel (mazout) assistance to get through this winter. With your support, we are arranging supply for these needy families this winter. A barrel of mazout is $250 per home for one month; therefore, $12,500 is required on a monthly basis for these 50 families.

In addition, we are now facilitating direct donations to supply mazout to specific resident recipients of your choice (such as relatives, etc.) other than the 50 families. We would love your assistance.

Gibran Khalil Gibran wrote in 1905:
“Are you … asking what your country can do for you or … what you can do for your country? If you are the… second, then you are an oasis in a desert.”

As Lebanese Expatriates, many of us not only apply the quote to our home country of Lebanon, but also to the village of Hammana, where our roots remain.
