I extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to and participated in World Wildlife Day 2026 “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage, and Livelihood”.
This gathering was truly special. Airmid Association Members, Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) Canadian Alliance Of Aromatherapy and National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy came together under one roof to share the remarkable work they are doing on behalf of medicinal and aromatic plants and the communities who depend on them. It was inspiring to witness such a collaborative and forward-thinking spirit, one grounded in the shared understanding that without these plants, our profession would not exist.
Throughout the event we shared knowledge, stories, research, and practical examples that highlighted both the beauty and urgency of conserving these extraordinary medicinal and aromatic plant species.
We were honored to hear from Métis herbalist, educator and author LoriAnn Bird, whose work and book Revered Roots remind us of the deep cultural and ecological relationships people have with plants around the world.
The day was filled with heartfelt moments including music, stunning photographs, educational insights, thoughtful discussion, stories and giveaways. Each contribution reinforced our collective commitment to protecting medicinal and aromatic plants. It left many feeling inspired, hopeful, and galvanized for the endless work ahead.
A special thank you to the Airmid Ambassadors, Airmid members, and the entire Airmid community whose support, participation, and contributions helped make this gathering possible.
Many Ambassadors joined us live, while others who could not attend were very much with us in spirit. Your voices, images, and dedication to medicinal and aromatic plant conservation continue to strengthen our global network of stewardship. Thank you.
We also appreciate the collaboration of colleagues and organizations working to advance sustainability within aromatherapy education and professional practice, including IFPA (International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists), whose engagement in sustainability and education contributes to the responsible stewardship of medicinal and aromatic plants.
As an International Clinical Aromatherapy Network ICAN Fellow, it is a privilege to contribute to the ongoing dialogue supporting medicinal and aromatic plant sustainability within clinical aromatherapy and beyond.
Events like this remind us how powerful collaboration can be when we come together with shared purpose.
This gathering marks an important milestone. Airmid Institute is deeply honored to collaborate with such dedicated organizations, associations, professionals, ambassadors, and plant advocates.
Together we are helping build a future where the sustainability of medicinal and aromatic plants is recognized not only as an environmental responsibility, but as a commitment to “health, heritage, and livelihoods” worldwide.
When we care for the plants, the plants care for us. 💚
Thank you!
