A New Chapter in Emergency Medical Services Begins October 1!

Beginning October 1, 2026, residents of Rancho Cucamonga may notice a new look when an ambulance responds to an emergency. CONFIRE will begin providing ambulance transportation services as part of a new regional emergency medical services system.

What does this mean for our Rancho Cucamonga community? The most important thing to know is that how you get help is not changing. If you are experiencing an emergency, continue to call 9-1-1 just as you do today.

Rancho Cucamonga Fire District will continue responding to medical emergencies, while CONFIRE EMS will provide and coordinate ambulance transportation.

You may see different ambulances, uniforms, and CONFIRE EMS branding, but the focus remains the same: providing timely, professional emergency medical care to our community. The new system brings together fire agencies, ambulance crews, hospitals, healthcare providers, dispatchers, and other public safety partners to better coordinate resources throughout the region.

Local 2274 members were out in the community today, walking to more than 200 homes in support of Mayor Pro Tem Lynne Kennedy, who is running for Mayor of Rancho Cucamonga in the November 2026 Elections!

Mutual Aid Update

Over the past couple months, Rancho Cucamonga Fire District personnel have been deployed throughout California, supporting numerous incidents and neighboring agencies. These assignments highlight the many ways our personnel contribute to the California mutual aid system, from firefighters working on the fireline to specialized overhead positions supporting incident operations.

RCFD mutual aid assignments have included:
- Gann Fire
- Dome Fire
- Floriston Fire
- Grasshopper Fire
- Lucas Fire
- Timber Fire
- McCully Fire
- MP18 Fire
- Ridge Fire
- Plaskett Fire

RCFD personnel have filled specialized mutual aid roles including Strike Teams (OES 6616, OES 8637, Brush Engine 177), Fireline Medics, Task Force Leaders, Division Supervisors, Field Observers, Situation Unit Leaders, and Public Information Officers.

We are proud of our Rancho Cucamonga Fire District members who continue to represent our community while helping protect communities across California.
