🖤 DARK HEARTS

ATTENTION: Our friends at In a Nutshell Storytelling are holding their big monthly showcase TWO WEEKS EARLY this month: Friday, October 16th (not the last Friday like usual).

This lineup is top-tier, for sure!!! While each teller will approach this month's theme differently, we can assure you that there's at least a little darkness lurking in each and every story...

🖤 Ingrid Nixon: An ordinary day turns curious, and a beloved father is suddenly back in the room.
🖤 Regina Stoops: A mother, a son who loves the horror genre, and the ridiculous lengths a parent will go to to see their kid smile.
🖤David Rodriguez: After his brother dies, a lifelong skeptic walks into an ayahuasca ceremony with a cult checklist, a plastic vomit bucket, and a grief-stricken heart craving forgiveness.
🖤 Liv Styler: Her father's death sends her back through time, searching through a parental line of policemen and overseers, all the way to the grandfather nobody explained.

Hosted by Keith Lowell Jensen.
🗓️ Friday, October 16th, doors 6 pm, show 7 pm
📌 The Sofia Sacramento
🎟️ Tix are always cheaper in advance; see comments for a link...

This is their last IAN show until December 12th; we REALLY hope you'll come check them out - ESPECIALLY if you haven't already!!!

We thought we should introduce you to our storytellers for our upcoming Immigrant Stories event happening on Tuesday, October 27th at 6 PM in the University Union Building on the campus of Sacramento State in the The University Union Sac State for our 5th annual Immigrant Stories, an event amplifying the lived experiences of our immigrant community members. Five storytellers will take the stage to share their true personal stories on the theme of this year: Courage, Strength, and Hope.  Go to the linktree in our bio for more information.

Up next, meet Diana Paola Manzano Licona. She was born in Mexico and raised in Southern California. She is the daughter of two immigrant parents who sacrificed everything they had for a better life. Because of their sacrifices, Diana is currently pursuing her higher education at Sac state. In spring 2027, she will graduate with a B.A in social work with a minor in child and adolescent behavior. Diana hopes to be an advocate for children in the system and those with disabilities. She found her passion for advocacy through the Undocumented Student Resource Center, formally known as the Dreamer Resource Center, at Sac State. Through them, Diana found the courage to be a voice for underrepresented communities.
