Service project complete! Last weekend Pack 28 distributed flyers around Mather and this morning we collected dozens of boxes and bags of non-perishable food! Thank you to everyone who donated and all the Scouts (and their grown ups) for volunteering two Saturday mornings in a row to help those who are hungry in our community.

The food will be weighed and donated to a local food bank soon!

This week, our Arrow of Light scouts completed their final full pack meeting. They demonstrated leadership skills, leading younger scouts in regular meeting activities, plus fun songs and games. It was a bittersweet evening, especially for AOL families, but still so full of smiles and laughs!

The oldest Pack 28 scouts will earn the highest honor of Cub Scouting at a special Blue and Gold Ceremony next month, and will have the opportunity to move on to Scouting America. Until then, we will have a few more events with our bridging scouts, including the Pinewood Derby this Sunday and a food collection service project the following couple of weekends!

Pinewood Derby workshop 2 out of 3 is complete! This past weekend, Pack 28 Scouts put the finishing touches on their cars, hollowed out the bottom for weights, and began painting.

This Saturday (2/7) from 10a-12p we’ll be back at Cubmaster Robert’s house to help Scouts with the axels and wheels. We’ll also have all the derby tools in case some Scouts missed previous workshops. Families, check your email for details!

It’s an exciting time of year for Pack 28 - Pinewood Derby Season!

Cubmaster Robert hosted the first of several workshops in his garage this weekend. Scouts received their car kits, sketched out designs, cut them out with the help of an adult, and started sanding.

Over the next couple weekends, we’ll help Scouts paint, add wheels, and get their derby cars ready for the big race. We can’t wait to see what our creative Scouts and their parents (there’s an adult racing division) come up with!

Pack 28 took a break from regularly scheduled Cub Scout business for some team-building, pin-smashing fun! We had an absolute blast bowling at FLB Entertainment Center and eating pizza. Love making memories with our scouts!

Photos from our Nimbus Dam Fish Hatchery tour and fishing adventure at Lake Natoma in Gold River. Our scouts has a great time learning about salmon and trying to catch their own fish. 🎣

Our recent pack meeting was messy, loud, and most importantly, tons of fun!

🥧Scouts who earned the most in the popcorn fundraiser got to throw a pie in Cubmaster Robert’s face.

🎈We hosted a balloon-popping battle royale!

🏹 Scouts shared highlights from the last camp out and other fun events.
