At our First den meeting of the year, scouts completed their Bobcat requirement, which includes learning/reviewing the Scout Oath & Law, Cub Scout Signs and Handshakes, and the Cub Scout Motto ("Do Your Best").

This year, our den meetings start as a big group and then break off into smaller dens. We’re having den meetings monthly on a Sunday afternoon at a public park to provide an equitable and accessible experience for all scouts and their families.

Photos from our Black Chasm Cavern National Natural Landmark adventure!

We bravely traveled one hundred feet below the surface to explore rare rock formations (cave bacon is apparently not for eating), learn about the rich history of the cavern, and see an underground lake. After we surfaced, we walked the Miners Trail, which looks like a real life fairy forest.

Is there any better way to kick off the summer than with a pack camp out?! Pack 28 Scouts and their families recently camped in River Bend Park in Rancho Cordova. From gold panning to a glow party, it’s safe to say this camping adventure was a big success!

We also officially welcomed our new Cubmaster Michael. Former Cubmaster Robert passed the proverbial torch around the campfire and we celebrated both of them with a s’mores feast!

Congratulations to the twelve Pack 28 scouts who bridged to the next rank this week, and thank you to all the parents and scout leaders who supported their child’s journey through scouting! Here are some photos from this week’s event.

We also want to thank and recognize Cubmaster Robert for his years of service and leadership! This was his final official event as Pack 28’s Cubmaster and we will miss him greatly.

Service project complete! Last weekend Pack 28 distributed flyers around Mather and this morning we collected dozens of boxes and bags of non-perishable food! Thank you to everyone who donated and all the Scouts (and their grown ups) for volunteering two Saturday mornings in a row to help those who are hungry in our community.

The food will be weighed and donated to a local food bank soon!
