Dream It Achieve It workshops April-June 2026

06/01/2026

Our club developed a new program based on the Dream It Be It curriculum called Dream It Achieve It. DIAI is geared towards empowering at-risk adult women.

On 4/14/26, we taught our 1st of six sessions to domestic violence survivors getting assistance from the Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center. Session 1 was about participants identifying their long-term goals by making a Dream Collage. We had participants complete a pre-workshop and post-workshop survey. Participants felt 17% more confident that they would be able to achieve their long-term goals after finishing our workshop.

On 5/12/26, we taught session #2 about how to achieve short-term goals. We started by explaining Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs then having participants identify their Maslow needs on a worksheet we developed. Then we explained SMARTER goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound, Evaluate and Revise) and asked participants to convert one of their Maslow needs to a SMARTER goal. Because SMARTER goals can still be too big, we asked participants to break down their SMARTER goal into smaller and easier to complete Action Goals using another worksheet we developed. Participants felt 32% more confident that they knew how to achieve their short-term goals from the pre-/post- survey they completed. One participant wrote on their survey, "Motivation. I now have an outline to meet my goals"

Our next session is on 6/12 about preparing for a career, particularly if your work experience is limited. This session will help participants identify life skills and help document both work and life skills on a resume that will be attractive to employers. We hope that the confidence score continues climbing after this upcoming workshop.

The greatest complement to our curriculum was the domestic violence counselor who has an MSW, said our curriculum aligned beautifully with the principles and techniques used in social work. WOW!

The best thing is...WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN SURVIVOR'S LIVES!!!🥳❤️

Our club has developed a new program based on the Dream It Be It curriculum, called "Dream It Achieve It." DIAI is designed to help at-risk adult women. We've taught 2 sessions out of our planned 6 to domestic violence survivors receiving assistance from the Sacramento Regional Justice Center and have been achieving fantastic results and feedback from our session participants. Session 1 on 4/14/26 had participants identify their long-term dreams and goals by creating a Dream Collage. Participants felt 17% more confident that they could achieve their long-term goals after completing session #1!

Session 2 on 5/12/26 had participants identify their short-term goals by first understanding their "Maslow Hierarchy of Needs" needs. We then explained SMARTER goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound, Evaluate & Revise). Then we had participants select their most important Maslow Need and convert it to a SMARTER goal. Since SMARTER goals can still be somewhat overwhelming, we had participants break their SMARTER goal into smaller and easier to achieve Action Goals. We had participants complete a before and after the workshop survey about their confidence in that session's topic. Participants felt 32% more confident that they'd be able to achieve their short-term goals after completing session #2!!!!

Session #3 is on 6/12/26 and is about preparing participants for getting a job and resume development especially if the participant doesn't have much work experience by converting life experiences into skills that many employers are looking for. We're hoping that participants feel 40% or more hopeful that they'll be able to get a job or a better job after completing this upcoming session 😃❤️
