📚 Welcome to the SAGS Book Club!

Welcome everyone!

We’re excited to launch the SAGS Book Club, an initiative of the Sudanese Association of Greater Sacramento dedicated to encouraging reading, lifelong learning, and meaningful conversations within our community.

Our goal is simple:
💬 Connect with one another.
🌍 Explore new ideas and perspectives.
❤️ Take a break from our busy lives through the joy of reading.

Here’s how it works:

• We will read one book every two months.
• Every reading cycle will be led by a volunteer who selects the book and helps guide the discussions.
• We welcome books in Arabic and English.
• Readers of all ages are welcome!

Throughout the reading, everyone is encouraged to:
✨ Share favorite quotes
✨ Ask questions
✨ Post reflections
✨ Recommend related books
✨ Join the discussions whenever you can

We’ll decide together how we’d like to meet:
☕ Café
📚 Library
🏡 Someone’s home
💻 Zoom
—or a combination of all of them.

Whenever possible, we’ll also invite the author to join us for a live conversation after we finish the book.

This club is about building friendships, strengthening our Arabic and English reading, celebrating literature, and creating a community that enjoys learning together.

Read. Connect. Grow.

Welcome to the journey! 📚

Celebrating the End of Our First Sunday School Year!

We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of our first year of Sunday School.

Throughout the year, our students explored Arabic language, Islamic studies, art, and Sudanese studies in a welcoming and engaging environment. Through these subjects, they strengthened their connection to their heritage, faith, creativity, and community while developing a deeper understanding of their identity as Sudanese Americans.

We are grateful to our students for their enthusiasm, our parents for their support, and our volunteers and teachers for their dedication and hard work.

Congratulations to all of our students on a wonderful year of learning, growth, and achievement. We look forward to continuing this journey together.

🌟 Building knowledge, character, creativity, and cultural understanding for the next generation.
