Thank you, City of Rancho Cordova, for recognizing the need for a stop sign for neighborhood safety! Safer streets help everyone who gets around our community, and we’re grateful for the attention to this. 🧡

Southwest Airlines ✈️ showed up in the house at the Rancho Cordova Community Hub, rolling up their sleeves alongside our volunteers! Their hard work goes a long way, and we’re so grateful for every hand that helped. Today, one of our team members found a heart-shaped potato in a pile of hundreds of pounds of potatoes. Southwest’s logo is a heart too, so it felt like the perfect sign. ❤️

Every week, volunteers help us deliver food to more than 1,500 families. We always welcome new volunteers who want to be part of that. Learn more and get involved at ranchocordovafoodlocker.org/volunteer

For Anthony Uribe, the Capital Cup isn't just a golf tournament, it's personal. During the pandemic, Anthony's mother relied on food pantry support to keep the family fed.

That experience is part of why he's swinging for the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub this year. Every donation to Anthony's Capital Cup fundraiser goes directly toward bringing grocery-style food access, nutrition education, and community support to our neighbors.

Today, Tuesday, September 29, is Hunger Action Day. Wear orange, and join us in shining a light on hunger right here in our own community.

You've probably seen orange around Rancho Cordova this month, including the color running through our new mural, as a reminder that when we come together, we can make sure our neighbors have the food they need to thrive.

Happy National Good Neighbor Day! 🧡

At the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub, "neighbor" is more than a word in our mission. It's the guest choosing fresh food for their family, the volunteer offering a warm welcome, and the donor who helps keep our shelves stocked.

Every act of kindness helps us provide nutritious food to our friends and neighbors facing hunger. Today, we're grateful for everyone who makes this community a place where people look out for one another.

How will you show up for a neighbor today? Our doors are open to new volunteers who want to make a difference close to home. Sign up at ranchocordovafoodlocker.org/volunteer 🧡

We won the Community Impact Award in the Sacramento Business Journal's Best Projects of 2026 for our new Community Food Hub! 🏆

This recognition belongs to the people who helped turn a big idea into a welcoming place where our neighbors can shop for food with choice and dignity. A BIG thank you to our project team at Tankersley Build Co, LPAS, and Greyscale Architecture. We are grateful for the care and talent you brought every step.

Thank you, too, to the City of Rancho Cordova for designating the Hub a City Legacy Project and supporting us throughout the journey. Thank you to our Board of Trustees who have the passion and support of this vision for change. What an honor to celebrate what we built together for our community!

This Hub grows stronger with every neighbor who joins us. Volunteer, donate, or share our story at ranchocordovafoodlocker.org 🧡

What does it look like when a community decides that access to food should also come with choice and dignity?

Carrie Johnson asked that question as demand for food grew in Rancho Cordova. Her vision became our new Community Food Hub: a no-cost grocery store where neighbors can choose the foods that work for their families.
The article also shows what a committed city partner can make possible. The City of Rancho Cordova’s long-term support gave us the stability to bring this vision to life and welcome our first shoppers in August.
