Feeding Cleburne was birthed out of a desire to meet the needs of those who are less fortunate than others, whether it is due to sickness, loss of income, or just having a difficult time providing for their families. Cleburne County is a rural area and the county’s poverty rate in December of 2015 was 18.4% and factored with the unemployment rate, many families do not have enough food to feed thei
r families each month, week, and sometimes on a daily basis. Originally Feeding Cleburne was teamed up with Reaching Out International, an organization that helps feeds those in need. In November 2015, Feeding Cleburne qualified as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. We now purchase the food each month directly from the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, in Birmingham, and distribute the food to local families in need through a food distribution held in Ranburne, Alabama the third Saturday of each month. It is our desire to help as many people as we can in the county. Presently we have a core group of churches and individuals that donate monthly to purchase the food that is given out in the food distribution. To reach more people, we naturally need more funding. Whether it is a one-time donation, or a monthly commitment, we ask that you prayerfully consider donating to Feeding Cleburne.
