A few weeks ago, some of our firefighters completed a Tactical Driving Course—which even included getting behind the wheel of police vehicles for a few scenarios!

We’re happy to report the cars survived… and the firefighters had WAY too much fun. 😂

Happy Days is made possible by the amazing volunteers who give their time to make this community celebration possible. It's a great way to get involved with your community, meet new people, and have fun while making a positive impact. We rely on our dedicated volunteers to help with various tasks throughout the festival, from assisting with activities, to event judging, parade help, and more!

All volunteers receive a Happy Days volunteer shirt, complimentary meal(s), and special recognition for their contributions.

Ready to be part of Happy Days? There's still time to register for the Expo and Parade! The deadline to register is Sunday, August 30 at Midnight.

The Happy Days Expo takes place along Town Center Drive, and features a wide variety of local craft vendors, businesses, nonprofits and other organizations.

The Happy Days Parade is from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. along Sunwood Drive at the COR. The parade is a longstanding community tradition and draws thousands of spectators each year. Parade entries are encouraged to be creative, engaging, and family-friendly. Awards will be presented for the most creative float or performance!

The Ramsey Fire Department is hiring up to seven (7) Paid On-Call Firefighters!

Becoming a Paid On-Call Firefighter is a unique opportunity to serve your community while continuing your regular career, education, or other commitments. You’ll become part of a team dedicated to protecting the Ramsey community while gaining hands-on experience responding to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and more.

No prior firefighting experience is required. The City of Ramsey provides the training and certifications you need at no cost to you.

What does “Paid On-Call” mean?
This is a community-service-focused position rather than traditional full-time employment. Paid On-Call Firefighters typically maintain their regular careers and commitments while serving their community as members of the Ramsey Fire Department. Firefighters are compensated for training, emergency response, and other required duties.

Compensation:
The starting wage is $14.90 per hour during the first year of probation/training, with a current top wage of $19.32 per hour. These rates reflect the 2026 pay schedule. The 2027 rate of pay is pending approval as part of the City’s 2027 budget process.
