We are a family friendly rescue in East San Diego County, where many of our animals live while waiting for forever homes. We also work out of Los Angeles, where we often have our fosters and dogs attending "finishing school". Most of our rescues come from shelters where they were about to be destroyed, horrible abuse/neglect situations and off of the street. Like most rescues, we are often full,
overwhelmed, and we can't always bring a new animal in. But we will use our outreach to help...it's takes a village and you can contact us for guidance on: re-homing, behavioral issues including aggresstion, finding your missing pet, transport and even outreach for medical needs/costs. Don't be afraid to ask - often times people just need support and coaching, and we can promise you that! We'd rather keep pets in homes by solving problems, than see them re-homed or taken to a shelter because a person doesn't have the support they need! We have strong relationships with a lot of other rescues, trainers, vets etc. and leverage that network to find homes, fosters, vetting and community help on a case by case basis. A little about us:
Sarah Gana specializes in the hands on care, day in and day out, of the animals at the ranch. She ran a shelter in Texas, has a zoology degree and has worked with many different types of exotic animals and is the next best thing to a vet! On a personal note, Sarah grew up in California, is an amazing artist, has a wicked sense of humor and is definitely one tough cookie! She loves the outdoors, camping, 2-stepping and going to the shooting range. Staci Wilkes has been the LA Team Captain for Operation Blankets of Love for the past 10 years. She has also launched her own foundation, The Compassion Project, which provides street outreach for the homeless/less fortunate and their beloved furry companions. This program provides necessary essentials such as dog and cat food, leashes, collars, toys, treats, hygiene supplies, household goods, etc. The program has taken off and with all the donations she receives, Staci has now been able to fully furnish 4 previous homeless peoples new apartments after they got off the streets!! In addition to that, Staci has teamed up with Karma Rescue to offer a FREE spay/neuter program for those she helps as well. They have successfully helped get countless of animals fixed through this program!! Staci also works closely with many rescue groups and shelters. Its a team effort with a common goal of bettering the lives of the voiceless!!! Both of the Legend gals work hard...and the work can be daunting and heartbreaking. It can also be the most rewarding work on the planet, which is why we continue to do it. We rely on our supporters and our network to keep us balanced and we make sure to take time out for fun...so don't be surprised if you think you see one of us 2-stepping at the local h***y tonk, riding a dirt bike or at the shooting range! Or just hanging out around a campfire with good friends enjoying a moment of calm in the middle of chaos. Please friend us, and stay in touch...WE NEED YOU AND WELCOME YOUR WORDS OR ENCOURAGEMENT AND SEEING OUR ANIMALS GET "FAN CLUBS" SO THE FANS CAN CELEBRATE WITH US WHEN OUR FUR BABIES HAVE SUCCESS! AND - If you want to be involved ASK US HOW! There are many different needs in animal rescue and we are sure we can help you find your niche...we like our volunteers doing what makes them happy....that way they stay involved and we can save more animals. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and rely on donations to survive. We never break even but we still never stop. Your donation of $5 helps. Donations can be Pay Pal'd to:
