At our Saturday meeting Ramona resident Kim Newcomer, leader of Ramona Stars 4-H Club’s Beekeeping Group, provided information and photos about the group, which started in 2009 for 9- to 19-year olds.

Elliotte Boyce, a Mountain Valley Academy 8th-grader was awarded Student of the Month for the MVA Middle School program. Her teacher, Goldie Kakacek and school principal, Courtney Sawada provided reasons Elliotte received unanimous support of all MVA teachers for the honor. Kiwanis Youth Services Chair, Tiffany Lynch presented Elliotte with her Outstanding Student plaque and Amazon gift card.
