🎤🚲 Thank You to Our Incredible Bike Bash Emcees! 🚲🎤

A huge thank you to Sig Hutchinson and Sarah Culton for serving as outstanding hosts at this year’s Bike Bash. Their energy, passion, and love for cycling helped make the evening truly special.

Sig Hutchinson, former Wake County Commissioner and longtime advocate for parks, greenways, and healthy communities, shared how cycling has been a meaningful part of his life since he was a kid growing up in Texas. His leadership and dedication to expanding outdoor spaces and active transportation have helped shape a more bike-friendly Wake County.

Sarah Culton, Director of Youth Cycling Initiative and volunteer head coach of the North Wake Trailhawks, spoke about how she became involved in cycling after seeing the joy, confidence, and sense of belonging it brings to youth—especially those who may not have found their place in traditional sports.

Together, they brought enthusiasm, humor, and heart to the evening, helping create an unforgettable and successful event. We are incredibly grateful for their support and leadership in the cycling community! 🙌🚴‍♀️

Advocating for sustainable trails in Wake County is a part of the YCI principle. We are fortunate to have student-athletes like Dhruv Chawla who step up and speak on behalf of our youth teams. Dhruv will be one of the guest speakers at the upcoming Bike Bash. Come see how biking can build leadership skills on and off the saddle. https://givebutter.com/c/2026BikeBash

YCI supports existing Wake County NICA teams, including the North Wake Trailhawks. These teams are mountain biking groups for students in grades 5-12. Teams welcome all skill levels. Teams provide support by licensed coaches who focus on skill development, trail stewardship, and, if the student athlete chooses, competitive racing.
