As a new school year begins, this resource offers suggested reading, ways to build relationships, questions to ask and things to avoid saying when welcoming neighbors who are new to the United States or have lived here for years.

Designed for students, teachers, parents, caregivers, counselors and anyone who wants to be a good neighbor, the resource draws on insights from immigrant families, educators and ministry leaders. Thank you, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship !

Weekends are for Advocacy!

School supplies aren't just for students; teachers often purchase items from their individual budgets to help students succeed in the classroom. Replenishing their supply helps them to better provide a safe and engaging learning environment for students. Be like Street United Methodist Church and advocate with school supplies!

Will you pray with us?

As children, students, teachers, staff, school administration and support staff return to their classrooms, offices and learning spaces this week, we hold them in light and care as we pray for each one, and for the systems under which we operate.

Comment "amen" if you prayed with us, and share this prayer so that others may pray with us as well.

Weekends are for Advocacy!

School Board meetings are usually accessible to anyone in the community. Showing up for a school board meeting means that you are interested and invested in local public school issues.

Check your county's Board of Education's website for meeting dates, times and locations. Show up to listen, speak or participate! Or, if you're unable to be physically present, watch and comment on the live streamed event. Most counties make their meetings available on public television and/or online!
