Rotary is different for every Rotarian.

For some, it's service. For others, it's friendship, leadership, cultural exchange, or the opportunity to change lives. Every journey reveals another shade of Rotary.

Our team of Rotarians from California, North Carolina, South Carolina, and New York recently experienced one of those shades during a 15-day Friendship Exchange in Tanzania.

Together with Rotary Clubs in Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Dar es Salaam, we shared ideas, built new friendships, explored future international projects, and distributed more than 1,000 reading glasses to members of Maasai communities.

One simple pair of reading glasses gave many people the ability to read again, continue their traditional craftsmanship, support their families, and regain independence. Sometimes the smallest act of service creates the greatest impact.

Beyond the breathtaking beauty of Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National Park, we discovered something even more remarkable—the power of Rotary's global family.

Rotary has no borders. It connects people through friendship, trust, and a shared commitment to Service Above Self. Every connection becomes an opportunity to build understanding, create partnerships, and make a lasting difference.

🌍 The first half of 2026 has been an incredible journey for our RCF Friendship Exchange Teams!
Rotarians, Rotaractors, family members, and friends traveled together, built lasting friendships, supported humanitarian projects, and explored some of the world's most amazing destinations.

✈️ Where We Traveled

✔️ Visited Rotary Clubs in Lima & Cusco
✔️ Explored the incredible Machu Picchu
✔️ Experienced Peru's rich history and culture

🇨🇺 Cuba
Despite ongoing political challenges, our team experienced the real Cuba through friendship and service.
Highlights included:
• Delivering over 1,000 pairs of reading glasses
• Supporting a Rotary humanitarian project in Viñales
• Meeting wonderful local people
• Enjoying Cuba's music, history, architecture, and culture

Once approximately 8 participants commit to a destination, we'll organize a Zoom meeting to discuss the itinerary, Rotary visits, accommodations, humanitarian projects, and cultural experiences.

The RCFS team of Rotarians had an incredible time exploring the vibrant cities of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Hanoi, experiencing the beauty of the Vietnamese countryside, cruising through the breathtaking Ha Long Bay, and discovering the rich culture and hospitality of Vietnam.
One of the highlights of our trip was connecting with local Rotarians, building new friendships, and exploring exciting opportunities for future Friendship and Cultural Exchange programs between our countries.
Vietnam truly exceeded our expectations—and we enjoyed it so much that we're already planning our next RCFS Friendship Exchange in 2027!

🇨🇺➡️🇱🇹➡️🇦🇿 Building Cultural Bridges Through Dance!
One of the most exciting outcomes of our recent RCF Friendship Exchange to Cuba has been discovering the incredibly talented Habana Compás Dance youth group.

Following our visit, we have begun working on arrangements to connect these amazing young performers with our RCF partners in Lithuania and Azerbaijan. Our vision is to create an international cultural exchange that will bring young people together through music, dance, friendship, and shared traditions.
If all goes as planned, Habana Compás Dance will participate in a cultural tour in June 2027, representing Cuba while experiencing the rich cultures of Lithuania and Azerbaijan.

This is exactly what the Reunite Cultures Fund is all about—creating friendships that cross borders, celebrating diversity, and giving talented young people opportunities to inspire and learn from one another.

What a great Zoom meeting as we completed our final preparations for our upcoming trip to Tanzania, Africa, with an amazing team!
This journey will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the incredible wildlife of Africa on safari, support a school project in a local community, meet with local Rotarians, and build new international friendships.
We'll also have the chance to discover the breathtaking island of Zanzibar—the Jewel of the Indian Ocean.
The countdown has begun... We can't wait for this unforgettable adventure! 🌍🦁✈️🇹🇿
