Speak with confidence. Listen better. Think on your feet.

Well Said Toastmasters is a friendly North Raleigh club for professionals and community members who want to become more confident speakers, stronger leaders, and better communicators. Join us in person for practical speaking practice, constructive feedback, our unique “Listen Up” challenge, and optional Improv sessions after the meetings.

What is “Listen Up”?
Communication isn't just about speaking. Great communicators listen.
Our unique “Listen Up” role is where a member keeps track of details said during the meeting and gives us a quiz at the end. It keeps everyone engaged and tests how well we really hear what others are saying.

What are the Improv Sessions like?
Well Said is a practical communication gym, rather than simply another organization that meets to give speeches. We have a 20 minute mini workshop after every meeting run by an experienced facilitator. Topics vary depending on interest and include: interviewing, idea pitching, small talk, and conflict resolution.

Not sure?
Guests may simply observe, and ease into participation as you feel comfortable.
Come visit and see if we’re a good fit for you.

Think this could benefit your employees or colleagues?
Contact us to discuss a free on-site Lunch-and-Learn so you can experience it at your convenience.

See our website for more details.

We had a great meeting today with a good turnout including three guests. As always, we appreciate you showing up, participating, and bringing your positive energy and interest in personal growth.

Here are the results of our voting:
1. New Location: Starting September 2, we will meet at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 7506 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh NC. Al took some photos and videos today, and will be sending a reminder and video on how to find the room as it gets closer.

2. Club Dues: Because of the cost for our new location, we need to start collecting $5 per member each month. This will begin in August for those who will be continuing on with our club. Toastmasters dues renewal period is October 1 to March 31. If you haven’t yet renewed, please go to their website to do so.

3. Meeting day and time: We will continue meeting at 12-1 pm on Wednesdays. However, to make the calendar work better with consistent club dues and the holidays, we are switching (from alternate Wednesdays) to 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. Next meeting dates are on the calendar on our website.

Welcome to new member, Josh! He visited for his second time last week.

We also had two interesting speeches. Tim gave an inspiring and thought-provoking one titled Honor vs. Honesty. And Rich shared insight with humor about Keeping the Commitment in relation to supporting your Toastmasters club. The theme was Chocolate, but neither Mr. Wonka nor Charlie Bucket were seen.

For Table Topics, we reviewed a few tips:
* start talking and meander until an idea comes to you
* over-accept the topic
* get the audience to feel an emotion by telling a brief story

We'd love to see you at our next meeting on February 18, 12 pm.

Have a great week.
