Community doesn't happen by accident—it happens when people choose to show up.

Every Thursday, neighbors become friends over dinner, games, conversation, and simple moments of joy. A balloon floating across the room may seem small, but laughter, shared meals, and genuine connection have the power to break through loneliness and remind each person that they belong.

At PostScript, we're building more than weekly gatherings. We're creating a community where every resident is known, valued, and invited into meaningful relationships.

Because everyone deserves a place to belong. ❤️

Last week, we had a great time celebrating the Fourth of July and America's 250th birthday! 🇺🇸🥳

There's so much to be thankful for, and we loved spending this special time together!

We also made some really cute sun faces and played soccer!

Thank you to Huntley Cuthrell and your amazing friends for the delicious hot dogs and burgers! 🌭🍔

It was a great night for everyone!

Last week, our travelers took a trip to the beautiful country of Costa Rica! 🇨🇷✈️

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, Reagan and Justin, for leading us through some of Costa Rica's breathtaking landscapes, culture, and traditions. Along the way, we played fun games (including "What Costa Rican animal are you?"), tested our knowledge with Costa Rica trivia, and learned fascinating facts about this incredible country.

Of course, no trip is complete without trying the local cuisine! We enjoyed a delicious Costa Rican-inspired meal featuring rotisserie chicken, rice, beans, salad, and plantain chips.

It's always amazing to see how these evenings bring people together through laughter, learning, and shared experiences. We can't wait to see where our next Staycation Adventure takes us! 🌎❤️

On Thursday, we kicked off our first Staycation of the summer, and this time, we traveled to Peru! 🎉

We had someone come in and teach us all about this beautiful country and the culture while making cute alpacas for our project.

To top off a great night, we enjoyed a delicious meal of Peruvian chicken, potatoes, corn, and rice pudding!

It was a wonderful way to start the summer. 🌞

A couple of weeks ago, we partnered with Artspace for a wonderful watercolor painting activity at Sir Walter Apartments! 🎨

The artist-in-residence, Adrianne Huang, led the group in a really fun project that let them tap into their creative side by making watercolor magnets!

Last night, PostScript Outreach turned the ballroom at Sir Walter Apartments into a joyful Cinco de Mayo celebration filled with music, culture, creativity, and connection! 🎉🪇💃

The room was overflowing with laughter, dancing, creativity, and meaningful connections between new and old friends. Nights like this remind us how beautiful it is to celebrate the unique cultures, stories, and gifts each person brings to our community. We love ALL our volunteers who make this possible! ❤️

Karen Cook led everyone in making maracas so we could keep rhythm with the incredible music and dancing provided by Folkloric Ballet, Latin Pride, and Soul.

The room was overflowing with laughter, dancing, creativity, and meaningful connection between new and old friends. Nights like this remind us how beautiful it is to celebrate the unique cultures, stories, and gifts each person brings to our community. We love ALL our volunteers who make this possible! ❤️

At PostScript, we believe connection grows when we gather around the table, learn from one another, and celebrate together. Thank you to everyone who made this special evening possible!

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo this week with our residents and special guest, Folkloric Ballet Latin Pride and Soul.

It was so much fun for everyone💃

Last Thursday's Connection was so much fun! ✨

It kicked off with friends arriving early, laughing, playing, and soaking up the joy of just being together. Before the event even officially began, the room was already buzzing!

We enjoyed an amazing meal, generously prepared by Amy Jones and friends from Christ Fellowship Church in Cary. There was so much delicious food, but the best part of the gathering was the warmth you could feel around every table. 🍽️

After dinner, Craig Smitley led a lively round of “Would You Rather?” The answers were great, and it was the perfect reminder that simple moments often create the best memories. 😄

We ended the night with movement during a fitness session led by our volunteer, Aamir Castelino. With his PT training at East Carolina University and a whole lot of enthusiasm, Aamir had everyone moving and laughing. 💪

Good food, great friends, big laughs, and plenty of joy. That’s exactly what PostScript is all about. 💛
