Last night, PostScript Outreach turned the ballroom at Sir Walter Apartments into a joyful Cinco de Mayo celebration filled with music, culture, creativity, and connection! πŸŽ‰πŸͺ‡πŸ’ƒ

The room was overflowing with laughter, dancing, creativity, and meaningful connections between new and old friends. Nights like this remind us how beautiful it is to celebrate the unique cultures, stories, and gifts each person brings to our community. We love ALL our volunteers who make this possible! ❀️

Karen Cook led everyone in making maracas so we could keep rhythm with the incredible music and dancing provided by Folkloric Ballet, Latin Pride, and Soul.

At PostScript, we believe connection grows when we gather around the table, learn from one another, and celebrate together. Thank you to everyone who made this special evening possible!

Last Thursday's Connection was so much fun! ✨

It kicked off with friends arriving early, laughing, playing, and soaking up the joy of just being together. Before the event even officially began, the room was already buzzing!

We enjoyed an amazing meal, generously prepared by Amy Jones and friends from Christ Fellowship Church in Cary. There was so much delicious food, but the best part of the gathering was the warmth you could feel around every table. 🍽️

After dinner, Craig Smitley led a lively round of β€œWould You Rather?” The answers were great, and it was the perfect reminder that simple moments often create the best memories. πŸ˜„

We ended the night with movement during a fitness session led by our volunteer, Aamir Castelino. With his PT training at East Carolina University and a whole lot of enthusiasm, Aamir had everyone moving and laughing. πŸ’ͺ

Good food, great friends, big laughs, and plenty of joy. That’s exactly what PostScript is all about. πŸ’›

We had such a fun evening at Sir Walter Apartments!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner of baked potatoes and chili.

Afterwards, we also played a moral dilemmas game where everyone had to choose just one option in each scenario, which led to some really great conversation. Afterwards, we had a photo challenge game and worked to spot the differences between two pictures.

To wrap up the evening, Maggie led our craft time and taught us how to paint watercolor bees, beehives, and fish. It was such a creative and joy-filled night! 🎨🐝🐟

P.S. Tonight was the highest attendance number we have had so far at The Connection! πŸ™Œ

It was such a fun evening for everyone! πŸ’š

We enjoyed a delicious meal generously donated by Whole Foods Market on Wade Avenue and wanted to give a huge thank you to Manager Natasha for her kindness and generosity. The residents truly loved it!🍽️

We also had several table games going, and many of our younger volunteers spent time helping residents with phone questions and tech issues. πŸ“±

It was a night full of laughter, connection, and learning more about our neighbors. 😊

So grateful for everyone who helped make the evening so special!

Last night, we welcomed spring at Sir Walter Apartments! 🌸

We wanted to give a huge thank you to Amy Allen and Patty Fox for a delicious dinner, chicken casserole, green beans, rolls, and strawberry shortcake with bananas on the side!

We kicked off the evening with a fun and creative activity, painting flowers to celebrate the new season, followed by a lively round of bingo. Tina Douthat Funke brought two mini cakes and cookies, and Maggie Diab, along with Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, generously provided prizes.

In the midst of the festivities, we also had the joy of celebrating a resident’s 90th birthday, making the night even more special. πŸŽ‰

He shared a simple but powerful reminder, β€œSmile and be kind to everyone!” Great advice and something we can ALL do πŸ’›

We wrapped up the evening with laughter, connection, and so much gratitude for the volunteers who make gatherings like this possible.

Last night was so much fun. High energy and lots of laughter!!
