Our next Senior Spotlight… Faye Webb!!

Faye is completing her sixth season with the Storm. Faye’s favorite verse is Proverbs 31:25 which says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” One thing Faye has learned is that she can be herself and be loved for it. What she brings matters. Faye’s future plans include finishing her Associate in Science at Wake Tech. She aims to become an orthopedic PA. Faye’s favorite memory with the Storm was the feeling of accomplishment after completing a difficult track workout or race. When asked who motivates her, Faye said, “My mom motivates me through her encouragement and our runs together.”

For our next coach intro we have our JV Tennis coach, Melissa George!

This is Melissa’s fourth year coaching for Storm. She says she “loves being able to coach the kids in a sport that I love while being able to shape their hearts and minds for the Kingdom of Christ.” It excites her to know that “each match [Storm] plays becomes a mission field the moment we step on the court. We get to leave an impression on other coaches and opponents each time they see us pray and glorify God.”

Outside of coaching, Melissa loves decorating and planning a great party! She also enjoys volunteering with the youth at her church. BUT what Melissa really enjoys most is being a mom and a wife!

“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” Titus‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭

For our next senior spotlight we have Brighton Osterhoudt!

Brighton is completing his sixth season with the Storm. Brighton’s favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:8 which says, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” One thing Brighton has learned is that God blesses those who train faithfully and seek to serve their teammates before themselves. Brighton’s future plans include continuing to run his Landscaping Business with his brother, and exploring educational and certification opportunities in the horticultural field. Brighton’s favorite memory with the Storm was winning the state meet his freshman season by 1 point. When asked who motivates him, Brighton said, “Coach David has motivated me to honor God in all aspects of my life, and to lead others well.”

For our first Senior Spotlight we have Harrison Totty!!

Harrison is completing his fourth season with the Storm Soccer. Harrison’s favorite scripture is Matthew 16:24-26 which says, “‘Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” One thing Harrison has learned is how to be positive and reflect God’s love both during wins and losses. Harrison’s future plans include going to Campbell University and pursuing a degree in Christian studies to become a youth pastor. Harrison’s favorite memory with the Storm was winning the top division of nationals his freshman year. When asked who motivates him, Harrison said, “my parents and my teammates.”
