Drepa-Hope International Development NGOs for information, Prevention and Protection of Children & Youth against Sickle Cell Disease.

Darby Lukombo Mayaemba, is the one of first few grafted against sickle cell disease that has the Democratic Republic of Congo. Born sickle cell, Darby Lukombo suffered one of the most debilitating and deadly disease up to 13 years, then receive a bone marrow transplant in September 19, 1988 in Brussels to the Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc, only curative treatment sickle cell anemia. h the unbearable suffering of the sickle and the dismay of their families, DREPA-HOPE NGO was established to play an important role in raising awareness against this genetic disease, and lead a struggle for life. It is in this optimistic spirit that Darby Lukombo, Founder President, has continued to win over many people who, from near or far, feel concerned, and watching for the slightest progress in research on sickle cell disease. Its principal mission to bring the broadest possible information to the entire population. To date, NGOs DREPA-HOPE has over 300 members and members, among which are distinguished the patients, parents, doctors, research organizations, both in Europe and Africa. It also counts among its ranks, sensitized sports personalities, artistic and political. The NGO aims to contribute to the wide dissemination of information about the care and screening to the population, as well as modern methods of treatment of the disease. She hopes to use the new information and communications technology to weave a web. In this context, she requested and obtained the assistance of the EPSP and ESU (Primary Education and Vocational Higher Education and University Superior) with which it works closely and set up a number of joint actions such as:
The quarterly radio program dedicated to sickle cell disease on RTNC
The information towards college students, high school and school leaders, religious communities, the general public in different towns of the capital,
The establishment of a partnership with the INSS for the study on sickle cell employees
Participation in Sickle Cell Disease Day and World Day of Sickle Cell Disease.
• Other Actions:
The activities of NGOs are funded mainly by contributions from its members and generous donors of aid, which appears on the 1st row Mr. President, in the sense that the revenue from the sale of his works is entirely donated to NGOs DREPA -HOPE. Darby Lukombo and all the officers of the Association rely on the good will for aid to alleviate this human suffering.
