New Leaders Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that works to recruit, train, and empower a new generation of political entrepreneurs who will impact policy as future or current elected officials, trendsetters, political operatives, non-profit professionals, lobbyists, business leaders, members of the media, teachers, and as other civically-engaged leaders. To learn more about NLC, you can visit the
ir website: www.newleaderscouncil.org. NLC is about people, it's about progress, and it's about results. It's about building a framework for a long-term Progressive infrastructure across the country. NLC does not engage in political or legislative activities, nor does it actively support or endorse or oppose any candidates for public office. Conservatives have the Leadership Institute, and it's time progressives had an organization which could be our champion moving forward. and is continually expanding. NLC has a goal of training over 10,000 new leaders across the country by the year 2020. The organization trains new leaders during each chapter's yearly NLC Institute, which is a five-month (January-May) one-weekened-per-month program that focuses on: personal leadership development, entrepreneurship, communications and marketing, fundraising and finance, political strategy and management, traditional and new media, and internet and technology. We get the best speakers to come in and coach future NC leaders. We focus on people who are just out of college through age 40. Approximately 20-25 fellows will be chosen to attend the 2014 Institute. What also sets NLC apart from other organizations is its focus on mentorship. Every fellow who attends the NLC Institute is matched up with a great mentor in the field of their choice.
