More importantly, we cherish those who defend it. Our warriors often come home to a lackluster welcome at best. Out of work, most forgotten, and even some exploited by so called “non-profit” organizations for personal gain. They’re broken both mentally and physically, and have very few genuine places to turn for help. The Definition Of Sacrifice is a not for profit mission formed by veterans, dedi
cated to give back to those who selflessly gave everything for us. God has bessed us with the gift of creativity. So we harness these abilities through the use of a camera and a note pad to bring our nations combat veteran back into the forefront by way of photo documentation and personal story. All this is done not to exploit, but rather to make very clear to the world that what these men and women do for us is miraculous and brave. This is the very pinnicle of what our society should base its principles upon, and most totally miss it. Well, we will make sure they don’t. We believe in both the power of words, and of pictures. So on a volunary basis, we travel the nation to visit combat veterans who would like to tell their story. The stories written are in their own words. They have a clean canvas to say whatever they would like. They talk about victories, and defeats. Most importantly they vent, and decompress. They let go and in turn, start to heal. But it doesn’t stop there. Other veteran who are going through a similar crisis read the stories and then they in turn, start to heal. This whole project is about giving back… Paying it forward if you will. What makes this all so special is that we are not doing a thing! The Definition Of Sacrifice is just the medium. This project is driven by combat veterans, for combat veterans. The short-term goals of this project is what you see here. A website and social media fronts documenting our travels and the stories and pictures we’ve collected. The long-term goal is to eventually have enough content to construct a hardbound coffee table sized book containing all the stories and pictures in which 100% of all proceeds will go to selected charities and/or veterans in need. This entire project works off of dontations, and the funds collected from supporters such as yourself is the ONLY way we can get out to see the veterans who volunteer for this project.
