North Carolina Triangle DSA is a chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America🌹, the largest socialist organization in the USA. We organize to build worker power and for leftist change in the Triangle: Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill/Carrboro. At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end. As we are unlikely to see an immediate end to capitalism tomorrow,

DSA fights for reforms today that will weaken the power of corporations and increase the power of working people. For example, we support reforms that:

* decrease the influence of money in politics
* empower ordinary people in workplaces and the economy
* restructure gender and cultural relationships to be more equitable

We are activists committed to democracy as not simply one of our political values but our means of restructuring society. Our vision is of a society in which people have a real voice in the choices and relationships that affect the entirety of our lives. We call this vision democratic socialism — a vision of a more free, democratic and humane society. 🌹

Join Triangle DSA at Gateway Women's Care in Durham for our fifth picket! 📢

We're showing up, live and in person, sending the message that the Triangle rejects fake clinics. We will have signs and literature (attendees are welcome to bring their own signs as well!) available to educate the local community and reveal Gateway's true intentions: to deny people access to their reproductive healthcare.💔

Anti-abortion centers (also known as crisis pregnancy centers, or CPCs) use unethical and coercive practices to spread disinformation about abortion and violate bodily autonomy. Abort Fake Clinics is committed to the removal of these centers from our community, and we communicate this through our grassroots resistance and community mobilization. ✊

Due to the anticipated extreme heat there will be shade for attendees to stand in, and we will be providing free cold water. Similarly, we will also provide limited seating for attendees to rest as needed. We will be demonstrating on the public sidewalk outside the facility. Parking instructions can be viewed at the RSVP confirmation screen. If you will require accommodations like a chair to sit in please let us know ahead of time and we would be happy to provide as needed!

Show up for the Durham community with us to demand the removal of fake clinics like Gateway Women’s Care. Did you know these centers are funded by redirecting taxpayers’ money away from legitimate sources of care like community health clinics and r**e crisis centers ($20 million to be exact)? Hear it from the state representative pushing back: Rep Julie von Haefen. She will be on site at our picket to tell us more about a bill she is introducing to oppose state funding for anti-abortion centers.

This May Day, Triangle DSA took to the streets in Raleigh and Durham in solidarity with thousands of workers from across the state, country, and world to say workers, not billionaires, hold the power. 💪 May Day, or International Workers’ Day, commemorates an 1886 strike for an 8-hour work day led by American workers, now celebrated across the globe🌹What did you march for this May Day? ⤵️

Another abortion care kit party for the BOOKS 🩷 Last month the Abort Fake Clinics campaign collaborated with several reproductive justice organizations to deliver reproductive mutual aid to the triangle.

The lack of access to care in our communities drives people to these crisis pregnancy centers (fake clinics) for things like free pregnancy tests. Our campaign works to put that and more into the hands of people seeking care, disrupting the demand for AAC services.

Reproductive justice is about not only choice, but access- we won’t stop until we have both 💪

The numbers are in… last night’s Dance for Cuba fundraiser was a massive success! 🇨🇺💃 We danced, we built community with DSA and non-DSA folks alike, and most importantly… we raised over $1900 to support DSA’s shipment of medical supplies!
