Welcome to the Cub Scout Pack 352 page. We are in the Impeesa District of the Occoneechee Council, which is part of the Boy Scouts of America. Founded in 1998, Pack 352 is chartered by the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi on Leesville Road in Raleigh, NC. Cub Scouting is for boys and girls in grades K-5. Pack 352 meets monthly, usually at 6:30pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month

at St. Francis of Assisi – Jacoba Hall, 10000 Saint Francis Drive, Raleigh, NC 27613, during the traditional school calendar year. Each boy is assigned a den by grade level. The dens meet individually on their own selected schedule, usually twice a month. Numerous Pack activities, outings, camping and trips are planned throughout the year. Pack 352 and individual dens also attend other local activities and events of interest. Scouts earn ranks, belt loops, pins and badges through a variety of requirements, achievements and activities.

🇺🇸 Pack 352 Families — New At-Home Opportunity for Our Scouts! 🇺🇸

As we celebrate America’s upcoming 250th birthday, Scouting America has launched a special program: the Liberty in Action: 250th Anniversary Challenge—and it’s something your Scout can work on right at home with your family!

This once-in-a-generation challenge invites Scouts to explore what liberty, citizenship, and service mean today through fun and meaningful activities. Scouts can earn a special commemorative patch by completing simple, flexible requirements between now and early 2027.

✨ Activities include things like:
• Talking about what freedom and fairness mean in everyday life
• Creating a short video, poster, or even designing a patch
• Visiting a historic site (in person or virtually!)
• Learning about local history
• Completing a service project together as a family

The best part? These activities are designed to be done at your own pace and can easily fit into family time, weekends, or even dinner table conversations.

This is a great way for Scouts to connect Scouting values with real-life experiences while celebrating a huge milestone in our country’s history. 🇺🇸

A huge thank you to Representative Mike Schietzelt for taking the time to speak to Den 2 tonight! He was so good with the kids and completely down to earth. Taught them how important it was to be trustworthy and to find ways to serve their community and what a difference it can make!

🏁🏁🏁Pinewood Derby's a Go Using Compressed Schedule🏁🏁🏁

Great news, we are a go for the Pinewood Derby this weekend!! We do need to be out of Jacoba by mid afternoon which means we'll be using the compressed contingency schedule that was emailed last night (and that is shown again below).

In the compressed schedule, there is overlap in the awards and registration windows. So while awards are being given out for one rank, the next rank’s scouts will arrive in preparation for their races. It will be tight, but we need to keep things moving. Though, as always, our priority is to ensure a fun time for the Scouts!

Friday, January 23 – Weigh-ins, Registration, and Family Race

Weigh-ins and Registration: 7 - 9 pm
Family Race: 8:15 pm (but arrive by 7:30 for registration)
Saturday, January 24 – RACE DAY

Schedule: see below.
If you do not make weigh-ins/registration on Friday, it is very important that you arrive at least by the beginning of the registration window for your rank. The last thing we want is for a car to be overweight or outside of the measurements and not have time to make adjustments.

🚨❄️🚨Please check your emails for changes being made to The Pinewood Derby tomorrow:

With the impending weather on Saturday, we developed a weather contingency schedule for Saturday. We’re hopeful the Pinewood Derby will still go on, but compressed the schedule so most of the races occur in the morning. Since we’re holding this on St. Francis property, ultimately, they have final say as to what time the campus closes. This contingency schedule is based on the St. Francis campus closing no earlier than 2 pm Saturday.

I will send out another email on Friday once we receive word on St. Francis’ plans and what our final derby schedule is.

In the contingency schedule, there is overlap in the awards and registration windows. So while awards are being given out for one rank, the next rank’s scouts will arrive in preparation for their races. It will be tight, but we need to keep things moving.

We’ll still hold the main registration Friday evening. If you’re able, we encourage you to attend this registration window. While scouts can register their cars on Saturday, there is less flexibility and the fewer cars we need to register on Saturday the less stressful it will be for everybody.

Speaking of Friday night registration, we could still use a few more volunteers to help. We have more than 90 scouts in our Pack and want this to go as smoothly as possible.

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP

The Registration Form is attached to this email. Fill out only the FIRST 6 ITEMS and bring with you to registration to help with our registration flow. They are also available onsite.

Saturday registration volunteers: we have good coverage here, thank you. With the contingency schedule, naturally the time slots would be different than shown on the sign-up. It looks like most folks signed up for the rank of their scout, so maintain that same idea for the contingency (i.e., arrive 15 min before the registration window of your rank).

And now for the Friday and Saturday schedules...

Friday, January 23 – Weigh-ins, Registration, and Family Race

Weigh-ins and Registration: 7 - 9 pm
Family Race: 8:15 pm (but arrive by 7:30 for registration)
Saturday, January 24 – RACE DAY

If you do not make weigh-ins/registration on Friday, it is very important that you arrive at least by the beginning of the registration window for your rank. The last thing we want is for a car to be overweight or outside of the measurements and not have time to make adjustments.
