We preserve and restore the natural environment for the benefit of future generations through hands-on activities, community engagement, and
environmental education bringing harmony to all life WE PLANT it FORWARD offers a Corporate Environmental Community Service Program and Community Partner Program where employees and organization members can learn about the benefits of trees and be stewards o

f the natural environment through native tree plantings, tree giveaways and tree seed collections. Do your part to make the world a beautiful and healthy place to be. We Plant it Forward (WPiF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit environmental organization. We love collaborating on tree plantings, tree giveaways, nature connected education, rain barrel workshops, and a native tree seed collection engaging community volunteers and building relationships with community partners. The long-range goal of WPiF is to be a comprehensive environmental organization also addressing issues on alternative energy, water rights and quality, and air rights and quality. We seek to listen to communities and observe nature to understand their environmental needs. We get great joy or of seeing people learning from the natural environment everyday. Ultimately, we want to help people build a way of life where we are happy, healthy, and nurturing a thriving natural environment.

Join We Plant it Forward and the Lorax as we present the petition to support planting trees to the Raleigh City Council 🌱

Planting and protecting trees to ensure every neighborhood in Raleigh benefits from cleaner air, cooler streets, and healthier communities.

✨ With a bold goal of 24,000 trees by 2032, this initiative focuses on:
• Expanding native plant use 🌿
• Strengthening community partnerships 🤝
• Supporting sustainable development 🌎
• Empowering residents to take part in growing our urban forest 🌳

Trees are essential—they reduce heat, manage stormwater, support wildlife, and improve our quality of life. Now is the time to make our voices heard.

At our recent Rain Barrel Workshops at Lake Crabtree and Beech Bluff Wake County Parks, 22 participants made their own 55 Gallon Rain Barrels to start their water conservation program at home! Through a grant from we were able to reduce the cost to $25 per barrel!

Grateful for a powerful day of service at our Raleigh Earth Day Tree Giveaway! 🌱💚

Because of the TREEmendous volunteers from Cisco, Eaton, and our amazing community volunteers, we were able to put 235 trees into the hands of families across Raleigh—supporting cleaner air, cooler neighborhoods, and a greener future for all.

Raleigh’s tree canopy is shrinking—but together, we can turn that around. Join We Plant it Forward, Audubon North Carolina, and Trees for the Triangle in advocating for policies that protect trees, wildlife, and our community.

City leaders have already taken an important step by supporting the “Leaf Out” initiative—including an ambitious goal to plant 24,000 trees. Now they need to hear from us as they prepare the upcoming budget in May.

Sign up for a Rain Barrel Workshop with We Plant It Forward and build your own 55-gallon rain barrel to take home! This fun, hands-on, one-hour session is beginner-friendly—no prior skills needed. Our team will guide you step-by-step, and you’ll leave with installation instructions and a practical tool to conserve water.

🔧 Participants will use power tools—please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing.
💲 Cost: $25 per barrel (make up to TWO!)
