The dancers are back in the studios, and the 26/27 Season is officially underway.

This past week marked the company’s first days back together, with rehearsals underway for Dracula, the new full-length ballet by Artistic Director/CEO Zalman Raffael. The ballet is being built from the ground up in the studio, with new choreography and scenes taking shape ahead of its World Premiere this October.

On September 25, we invite Carolina Ballet supporters, friends, and members of our community to join us for The First Dance, an exclusive celebration inside our future home.

Be among the first to experience the space as it takes shape, with cocktails, a first look at the future home, and a seated dinner curated by David Casteel of Mitchell•Casteel. The evening will culminate in a special performance of two pieces by Carolina Ballet dancers. Be there for the first time performing inside the space they will one day call home.

It may still be summer, but October will be here before you know it.

Halloween might not be right around the corner just yet, but an unforgettable evening at the ballet is worth planning ahead. This fall, step into the world of Dracula, where Bram Stoker’s legendary tale unfolds on stage with haunting imagery and mesmerizing storytelling.

On October 15, the curtain rises on an entirely new full-length ballet by CEO/Artistic Director Zalman Raffael, featuring an original score by Aaron Severini. Dracula transforms the legendary tale into a thrilling theatrical experience, with intricate hand-drawn imagery brought to life through projection, an original score, and powerful storytelling.

The year ahead brings Balanchine’s Jewels in its entirety, the holiday magic of The Nutcracker with live music, the timeless romance of Giselle, and the imaginative world of The Little Mermaid. In the spring, three world premieres take the stage alongside Balanchine’s Apollo in The Rite of Spring, before a newly envisioned Sleeping Beauty brings our 2026/27 season to a spectacular close.
