Since our implementation trip in August, the community has been continuing their hard work on the water system. A fence was constructed around the pump house and solar panels. Reinforced concrete supports were added to the pipe entering and leaving the pump house. Finally, the tank drain lines were directed away from the foundation and the grading around the tanks was completed. We are always inspired by the hardwork of our partners and their continuous improvement of this system.

Another great day at Shelley Lake Park in Raleigh. Six times a year, our group meets at Shelley Lake park to clean up trash around the busy lake and make life a little better for the eagles, turtles, deer, herons, and ducks who live there. Thank you to our long standing partners Raleigh Parks and Rec for this opportunity!

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our project! Abelino, Rudy, and Nestor are doing amazing work surveying the lower tank site. We are on track to begin construction of the Chiquiguital Water System in February! So far we've raised $64,000 from corporate and individual donors along with contributions from the community and local government. We're still hoping to raise about $7,000 more to finish phase 1 of our project which will supply clean water to several distribution points throughout the community.
