3 Bluebirds Farm Farm activities for children & adults with autism in the Triangle area of NC

Currently operating track-out programs & summer camps for school-aged children with autism (Camp Bluebird). Long-term goal is to include a planned agricultural community located in the Triangle of North Carolina, which will provide supported farm living for adults with autism.

Sometimes, life reminds you how much kindness still exists in this world -- just when you need it the most.

Yesterday, our Farm Activities Coordinator, Arayel, rushed her family's sweet dog, Indigo, to VEG ER for Pets – Cary, NC location after Indigo got into something toxic. The veterinary team told her that had she arrived just 30 minutes later, they likely would have lost her. They quickly stepped into emergency action and did everything they needed to do, with all caring hands on deck.

Then the bill arrived.

The team at VEG recognized Arayel from when we brought our beloved livestock guardian dog, Sundance, to them in April. They remembered 3 Bluebirds Farm.

Through VEG Cares, their charitable assistance program, they were able to DRAMATICALLY reduce the cost of Indigo's lifesaving treatment and set up a payment plan, making it possible for her to receive the care she desperately needed. VEG Cares helps pets in crisis by providing financial assistance for emergency care through community donations and partnerships.
As Arayel was processing everything, one of the team members quietly said, "I think Sundance is looking out for you."

Cue the tears.

Whether you believe in coincidences or something more, we'll never forget the compassion, generosity, and extraordinary care shown to our Bluebird family.

To every doctor, technician, assistant, and staff member at VEG Cary: thank you. You didn't just save Indigo's life. You reminded us what compassion looks like when people need it most.

Applications are now being accepted for our expanded Finding Balance Adult Day Camp Program beginning this fall. Because we have intentionally designed a small-group program, space is limited. We encourage interested families to submit their applications now. Early applications will help us build our participant cohorts, staffing plans, and session availability for the coming year.

Finding Balance is a year-round, farm-based program for adults with autism that focuses on social development, life skills, responsibility, emotional growth, and vocational readiness through hands-on experiences.

Participants progress through themed sessions, earn Bluebird Badges, celebrate milestones, and build confidence over time.
