There’s no getting around it — this time, the money spoke louder than the people.

We are deeply disappointed in the five Commissioners who voted to hand WakeMed over to Atrium. As we sat through months of Commission meetings, we saw few supporters of the deal who were not hospital management, employees asked to attend by their bosses, or otherwise financially interested in the outcome.

Please know our fight is not over. We remain committed to growing our movement across the state to enact a healthcare affordability agenda that puts people first.

We say NO to the Atrium takeover!

🚨 TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO STOP ATRIUM’S TAKEOVER OF WAKEMED.

Even WakeMed’s former Chief of Staff, Dr. Bob Bilbro, is speaking out against the deal, warning that Wake County’s control of WakeMed could be lost forever.

The Wake County Commission is the last barrier to this takeover. Commissioners will vote TODAY on whether to approve the deal.

There’s still time to act—but we need you to act NOW.
