Three events at the French Cultural Center in Raleigh over the next week.

🎨 Saturday, August 22. Watercolors with Lynda. 10am to 12pm.

A summer harvest workshop. You paint a postcard with the fruit or vegetable of your choice, then finish it with hand lettering in French or English. Lynda Chambers covers color mixing, layering, and botanical illustration. No experience needed. In English. $45 members, $65 non members. One seat left.

🎥 Sunday, August 23. Ciné-Club. 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Screening of Tenor (2022). A young man from the suburbs discovers he can sing opera. Street culture meets classical music. In French with English subtitles. Free for all. 20 seats, 5 left.

🎺 Saturday, August 29. Gypsy Jazz Night. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

The Onyx Club Boys are back, with singer Sophie Dal-Pra. French and English classics reworked in the gypsy jazz tradition. Refreshments included. $30 members, $40 non members. 10 seats left.

What an interesting afternoon.

We spent it at the Nasher Museum exploring "Everything Now, Alliance At Once" — and left with a lot to think about.
