Opportunity to make a real impact on someone's life:

Purple Recovery Empowerment Project is putting together an emergency housing fund which involves a security deposit and first month's rent for one of our own.

As a Peer Support Specialist in the Outer Banks, she meets people where they are, usually in crisis, in the darkest corners of addiction, and walks alongside them toward recovery.

She's the person who picks up the phone at the worst hour, who shows up when no one else will, and who does it all with compassion forged from her own lived experience.

Right now, she needs her community to show up for her.
Please consider donating and/or sharing. Every penny counts.

The Outer Banks Community Foundation was kind enough to reach out to write a story about Purple Recovery and the idea, history, and actions behind it.

We appreciate their support and hope to have yours !

In a tourism-driven community like the Outer Banks—where many people work in one of the three Rs: real estate, retail, or restaurants, where deals are made over lunch, and where social life often revolves around bars and cocktails served from sun-up to sundown—it can be especially challenging fo...

Hey friends — it’s Aaron from Purple Recovery.

Just wanted to share a quick update on how YOUR SUPPORT is directly changing lives.

This week, thanks to your donations, we helped two people in recovery stay on the right track and hopefully made their lives just a little bit easier on their road to recovery.

🟣 One man, still in treatment, was about to lose his gym membership — one of the big things keeping his mind right. We stepped in and gave him three more months through our Step Into Strength program.

🟣 Another man, fresh out of treatment, was attempting to get from one city in NC to another in hopes of being accepted in a sober living house. One of our board members, Autumn, worked tirelessly to get him transportation. We made an agreement with the Oxford house to pay his initial deposit and first week of rent — and within 24 hours of arriving, he landed a job!

He called Autumn excited and thankful. And honestly? We were just as pumped for him.

This is the gap we’re trying to fill!! This is the mission.

That space between getting clean... and building a life.

Thank you for being part of this mission.

We’re excited to announce our new partnership with Outer Banks Sports Club !

Through our Step Into Strength campaign, we’re sponsoring gym memberships for people in early recovery who can’t afford them on their own.

Movement can be life-saving in recovery. It relieves stress, builds confidence, and creates routine — all things that help people stay on track.

You can help us fund 3-, 6-, and 12-month memberships that include gym access and personal training.

In our attempt to establish a Sober Hub in Dare County, we put together a community survey which has been answered by those in the recovery community.

The answers address an urgent need for a Sober Hub.

92.7% of respondents felt there were not enough resources available to support individuals leaving jails or treatment facilities, indicating not only a need for more resources but also for a central hub to improve awareness and coordination of existing services.

98.8% shared that having a physical location for individuals in recovery would positively impact their recovery journey (there is none currently).

81.7% reported that access to a centralized, supportive recovery environment could have prevented prior relapses.

As we raise money and search for a location, you can help by making a donation. Donation link is in our profile and goes to our fund with the Outer Banks Community Foundation.
