🚨 Upcoming Webinar 🚨

Join us on Wednesday, June 24, at 1:30 PM ET for a webinar, "Inside the Average American Brain: A Path to Better IPM Communications," with speakers Kelsey Gosch and Michael Rozyne from Red Tomato.

In this webinar, the speakers will talk about how communicators contribute to the public understanding of IPM and sustainable farming by equipping them with communication tools for strategic framing. They will also create an understanding of framing, share the dominant mental models of farming held by the U.S. public, and present six general strategies for framing communications on IPM and farming.

The webinar will be recorded for anyone unable to attend the live session.

🌶️ Help the Future of Pepper Research at NC State! 🌶️

Help support Lauren Turner, a master's student under the advisement of Emmanuel Torres Quezada at NC State, by participating in this survey on pest management experiences in the pepper industry. Please use the link below to access and complete the questionnaire, which will take approximately fifteen minutes.

Please distribute this survey to pepper growers and other pepper industry professionals in your network.

Please note that for Extension personnel, there are only two options provided for your role in the industry: Extension Agent and Extension Specialist. Please choose the role that aligns best, regardless of your Extension level appointment. If you fall into another role in the pepper industry, please select the role that aligns best with your current role.

🚨Upcoming Webinar 🚨

Join us on Wednesday, June 3, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET for our latest Southern IPM Hour webinar. We will hear from Dr. Rafia Khan from Texas A&M University about her ARDP research project, “Integrated pest management of European pepper moth.”

The European pepper moth is an invasive pest causing significant economic losses in nursery and greenhouse crops, and current management is limited by knowledge gaps. This multi-state project aims to improve IPM strategies by studying its distribution, crop preferences, environmental influences, and control options, ultimately reducing losses and supporting grower adoption of effective IPM management practices.
