As-Salaamu-Alaikum dear MYCC community,
We are heartbroken and deeply disturbed by the tragic shooting that occurred at a masjid in San Diego. Our prayers and condolences go out to the victims, their families, and the entire community impacted by this senseless act of violence. May Allah SWT envelop them in mercy and healing. Aameen.
Our masaajid are the houses of Allah SWT — places of peace, worship, safety, and togetherness. When harm reaches any house of worship, it shakes us all. Moments like these remind us of the importance of standing united, supporting one another, and remaining vigilant while placing our full trust in Allah.
We ask Allah SWT to grant healing to those who were harmed, patience and strength to their loved ones, and protection to all communities facing fear or hardship.
We encourage everyone to keep the affected families and community in your du‘ā, to check in on one another, and to continue nurturing the spirit of mercy, unity, and resilience that our deen teaches us.
On the administrative side, MYCC is taking this matter seriously. We are actively reviewing and strengthening our security measures and protocols to ensure our community is as safe and prepared as possible in the face of such reckless hate.
