Brain Injury Association of North Carolina

Brain Injury Association of North Carolina The official Facebook of the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina. Our mission is to offer help, hope and a voice for the brain injury community.

Currently, there are at least 5.3 million Americans living with a disability because of a brain injury. Every 23 seconds a traumatic brain injury occurs, and in the next year, an average of 1.4 million Americans will sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Approximately, 180,000 North Carolinians are living with challenges of brain injury; this equals the entire population of the city of Fayettevi

lle. Traumatic brain injury is the signature injury of the current wars and many of the injured Military Service members are returning to their home communities in NC greatly increasing the number of people needing help. Each person with brain injury has unique needs and recovery potential. BIANC seeks appropriate and timely services in order to maximize recovery and provide for an optimal life style for those who have experienced a devastating and life changing TBI. Founded in 1982 by families and concerned professionals, BIANC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization that advocates on behalf of individuals with brain injury and their families. A chartered affiliate of the Brain Injury Association of America, BIANC currently has Brain Injury Resource Centers in Raleigh, Charlotte, Greenville, Asheville, and in Winston-Salem.

Your voice still matters. đź’™
We’re continuing our Needs & Gaps Study to better understand the challenges facing brain injury survivors, caregivers, and providers across North Carolina, but we still need your input!

By sharing your experience, you can help identify barriers, improve resources, and shape the future of brain injury support and services in our state. Every response helps us build a stronger, more supportive community.

Take part and make your voice heard today.

🧠 We’re asking North Carolina to speak up and be heard. 💙

Every day, individuals and families navigate life after brain injury, and no two experiences look the same. That’s why gathering real feedback from our community is so important.

The Brain Injury Association of North Carolina has opened its Needs & Gaps Survey to better understand where support is strong and where it still falls short.

If this is part of your story, your input can help guide meaningful improvements across the state.
