Following is some info about our next meeting on May 18th:

Event: ANNUAL TBS SPRING PICNIC AND AUCTION
Meeting Date: Sunday, May 18th
Meeting Location: Raleigh Police Club, 3500 Leonard Rd. Knightdale, NC 27545

DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED STARTING AT 12 PM.

Food ( Chicken, BBQ, Sides and Desserts) will be served starting at 12.45 PM.

AUCTION BEGINS AT 1.30 PM.

Proceeds from the auction are to benefit :

Lectures, workshops given by traveling bonsai artists
Expenses of setting up educational shows for the members and the community
Expenses such as rentals etc..

Please be generous with your donations ( examples: trees, pots, tools and ALL other bonsai related items you can live without)

We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our Auction on May 18. The auction represents a great opportunity for new and experienced practitioners alike to acquire tree material, tools, and accessories. It is also an opportunity for all members and friends to show their passion for the art of Bonsai!

TBS will have food catered including dessert. Water, Coffee, Tea and Sodas are provided as well.

First bonsai pot for this Kingsville boxwood. I heard an "Ahhh" when I replaced the nursery dirt with bonsai mix.

The 2023 Expo is in the bag! :) What a weekend it was!
We had more than 1,200 people come through the show during the weekend, which showcased 45 amazing trees! There were four demos that were nearly standing room only for each. We crowned the 2023 New Talent--Congrats Jason Harrow! And over 20 folks created a bonsai of their own to take home during the workshop each day. And if you didn't get to see it (check the photos), Dane Smith had a wonderful Red Pine that was crowned "Best in Show." Congrats Dane!

Thank you to all the volunteers and participants!
And guess what ... The State Fair is only three months away! So start prepping.
Also, hope to see you at the next TBS meeting on August 6th with special guest Jennifer Price.

The weekend is nearly here!! It's TBS Expo time at Duke Gardens!!

Can't wait to see all of you on Saturday or Sunday. (10am-5pm and 10am-4pm) This is one of our biggest events of the year, so I hope you all can come out and enjoy it.

Trees submissions are in!
Bonsai supplies are lined up and ready to sell!
Workshops and Demos are set and will be great!
The talent competition entrants are excited to start!
A world-class photographer is prepared to make trees shine!

Please tell family and friends--this weekend, Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM at Duke Gardens!

Get those tree submissions in!

We're looking for your trees! Let us know what you would like to submit for the TBS Expo on July 1 & 2 at Duke Gardens.
Please let Drew Leonhard know the type(s) and number of trees you would like to display. ([email protected])

Drop off for trees is June 30 from Noon to 4 pm at Duke Gardens. (420 Anderson St., Durham, NC, 27705) A dedicated group of TBS members will make sure they are cared for during the days they are at the gardens. (This is an indoor display)

The show is open to ALL MEMBERS, and ALL SKILL LEVELS are encouraged to participate. It's a wonderful opportunity to show the public and your TBS counterparts the great work and love you have put into your trees.

There is limited space, so if you wish to show your creations, let us know asap.

Again, email Drew Leonhard what type and number of trees you wish to display and then bring them to Duke Gardens on June 30 from Noon to 4pm.
You can pick up your tree(s) starting at 4 pm on Sunday, July 2.
