This year marks the 40th Ruby Anniversary of the Mahogany Tennis Association — celebrating 40 years of tennis, culture, and community! A proud competition of historically African-American tennis clubs across North Carolina — including the Ebony Racquet Club, Greenville Tennis Association, Durham Magic Express, Wilmington Seagulls, Goldsboro Gold City Acers, and the Fayetteville Wizards.

The Mahogany Tennis Classic is being hosted by the Greenville Tennis Association in Greenville at Riverbirch Tennis Center, it’s time for the Ebony Racquet Club to REPRESENT and bring that trophy back home where it belongs! 🏆

We’ve got 21 days until registration closes, and every player counts. If you’re available, we need you on that court!

The Ebony Racquet Club extends our heartfelt gratitude to the Raleigh Tennis Association (RTA) and the Cy King Fund for their continued support and generosity.

We are especially thankful for the grant awarded in support of our collaboration with “Love to Serve,” presented by Andrew Waldrop and Roberta Hadley. These much-needed funds make a meaningful impact on the work we do every day.

It’s hard to put into words what Billie Battle meant to Ebony Racquet Club, but today we honor his life and legacy—one of the most dedicated and impactful presidents in the club’s history.

His leadership, passion, and unwavering belief in what Ebony could be helped shape generations, even through some of the club’s most challenging times.

He stood firm, spoke boldly, and gave his time, energy, and heart to something bigger than himself.

Now, he rests… reunited with his beloved wife, Mrs. Doris Battle—his queen—where love continues beyond this life.

Rest well, Mr. Battle. Your legacy lives on through every life touched and every court still standing.

You will never be forgotten. 🙏🏾🎾🖤

Next Level Tennis with Ebony Racquet Club is designed for players who already understand the basics but want to improve their skills, confidence, and consistency on the court.

This program focuses on:
✔️ Stroke development
✔️ Rallying and consistency
✔️ Match basics and scoring
✔️ Court positioning
✔️ Tennis strategy

🕕 Wednesdays | 6:00 – 7:30 PM

Starting Tuesday at Biltmore Hills, Raleigh Tennis Association is offering a Try Tennis program for kids and adults.

🔥 Ebony Racquet Club Proud Moment! 🎾

We couldn’t be more proud of one of our very own — Lincoln Battle! From his early days dominating on the Ebony Racquet Club junior team to now competing against the world’s best on the ATP Challenger Tour, Lincoln continues to represent our club, our community, and our legacy with heart, hustle, and skill! 🙌💪❤️🎾

Last week, Lincoln received a wild card into the 2026 Cleveland Open — part of the prestigious ATP Challenger Tour — and competed in the main draw against tough competition. He faced Justin Boulais in Round 32! Lincoln fought hard, and showed the determination that we’ve always seen in him but fell just short with a final score of 3-6, 4-6.

Lincoln, your journey from the grounds of Ebony Junior Team Tennis to the pro circuit is an inspiration. The young players in our program today are watching your every move, and you show them that their dreams can be within reach.

Coach Roc hosted Men’s Bowling Night and let’s just say… experience matters 😉
No girls allowed 🤣 just laughs, competition, and a whole lot of fun.

Ebony Racquet Club’s Junior Season officially begins February 16th from 4:00–6:00 PM!

We’re excited to welcome our junior athletes back for a new season of development, teamwork, and excellence on the court.

🎾 We welcome new players and players with an interest to join by contacting Coach K at 919-818-3607.

Practice days are Mondays and Thursdays, 4:00–6:00 PM.
