Today, Betty has one last chance to fight like crazy and live to see another day. She is in surgery now. The vet is really kind and we share many similarities. She is the only vet out of everyone I contacted about Betty that actually said, “you know the risks?” Then, we set the plan in motion.
Betty’s mass, though not measuring much larger, looks much larger because it’s become more solid in a large marble shape. Maybe that’s good and will make the surgery easier. I’m so scared.
Scared like I was for Easter a decade ago when this silly rescue farm started. Betty is just different. She talks to me and lets me know things- like she felt sick and like lying down at the vet. Maybe the car ride made her sick. She comes over and demands your attention and makes it clear that she very smart. She’s is the matriarch of the four rats here and though very small compared to the other softball rats. They all grew up together.
Life is better with rats. Betty is my therapist, my best friend and my adventure-rat! Here’s to hoping she stays strong and chooses to continue to fight this stupid benign mass and watch it get thrown in the trash today. YOU GOT THIS, BETTY!!!! 🩷💥
I am so scared.
Care to help with the massive bills that Betty has accumulated? If so, huge thanks for the kindness!
